Applying for British passport for my child from overseas

Dear all. I am hoping if someone from you could guide me please. I am a fatherof 6 months old child born in Republic of Ireland. I am British citizen. My child has Irish passport too.
We want to apply for British passport for my child. I submitted application. But everything got stuck during referees. The referee could not understand the online form sent by HM to them. Referees don’t know weather they will write applicants details or parents details.
Anyone experiencing/ experienced same? Please if you want to ask more questions do so.
