Pre settled status - settled status - citizenship

Post by Miamiklo » Wed Apr 20, 2022 11:52 am

I am a EU spouse who entered UK August 2018 and have been living and working here since. I had a BRP as an EU family member and a presettled status. I will apply for a settled status once I reach my 5th year in the UK. I see that I need to another 12 months to start my citizenship application. Is that right?

Yes, that is correct. You need 12 months on settled status before you can apply for citizenship.

unless you are married to a British citizen, then the 12 months on settled status is not required.
