Spouse Visa Extension or ILR - Urgent

Post by klownking » Tue May 17, 2022 4:15 pm

Hi,

On behalf of a friend.

He is going to complete his years on the Spouse visa next month. If he doesn't pass the Life in the UK test, then should he just apply for another extension or ILR and explain the test in the cover letter.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks

If he doesn't pass the Life in the UK test your friend will have to submit a FLR(FP) application. This will put him on a new 10 year path to settlement (ILR)

Has he passed the B1 English test?
(Casa, not CR001)

Yes.
ILR and explain the test in the cover letter.
LIUK and B1 English test are mandatory for ILR. If he doesn't do the test, ILR will be refused.

D-ILRP.1.2. or applying for FLR(M), if eligible, should keep him on the 5-year path.

Well, my friend has failed his LITUK test and now I think the only option available is the extension.
I would appreciate that if you guys can please update me about the list of documents required for the extension?

Thanks

If there is still time, friend may Google lifeintheuktestweb and practice with the tests there.

Then he should start putting the documents for another FLR together. This would give a more time to start practising again. It's not the easiest of exams, and it's not the hardest either.
He should also dedicate an hour or 2 daily to the online test.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

I wish he would do that. Well, if someone is willing to waste time then nothing can be done.

Thanks
