Change of Last (Family) Name post Marriage and ILR application

Hello Raj / Zimba,

I have a query regarding this and would appreciate any answers. I will be applying for Indian passport renewal for change of name (not due to marriage /divorce). I have done the gazette and newspaper ad in India and also a Deed Poll in the U.K. but on the vfs website, it says we have to publish an advert in the local area of residence in addition to the one published in India. I can’t seem to find how to publish a change of name ad in the U.K. newspaper. Doesn’t seem like it is common here in the U.K.

Any ideas if it is actually necessary or will the deed poll suffice?
