MN1 registration complaints

Post by pavans » Sun Jun 18, 2023 8:52 pm

Hi,

I have applied MN1, 5 months back ( Jan 2023 ) and still not received any
confirmation email. I have been checking all my emails daily ( junk too ).
However, recently i got a call from my council saying that they received my
MN1 ( in March 2023 ) and still waiting for me to book for the oath
ceremony. But we cant book the ceremony unless we get the confirmation
email from UKVI. The council said that if we don't book the ceremony within
3 months i.e. by June 2023 end then the MN1 would be sent back and we need
to apply again. I have be calling UKVI and sending out emails but there is
not proper response. I had even sent a email to my local MP. Can anyone
please let me know what to do and whom to approach.

Regards,
Pavan.

MN1 registration complaints

Post by secret.simon » Sun Jun 18, 2023 11:58 pm

MN1 is a form to register children as British citizens and do not normally require a citizenship ceremony, unless the child celebrated their 18th birthday after the date of application.

Are you sure you are talking an an MN1 application and not a naturalisation application?

I don’t understand. If your council called you and are waiting for you to book an appointment, then just book it, ASAP? It seems that they may already have more enough information to accept your booking.

Hi,

The council said they can not book the appointment unless we show the confirmation email from UKVI.
