Seeking Guidance on Delayed Innovator Visa Extension Process

Post by arminkhan » Mon Nov 27, 2023 3:02 pm

Dear Community Members,

I am reaching out to seek insights or similar experiences regarding the Innovator Visa extension process. I applied for my Innovator Visa extension using the Super Priority service, expecting a swift resolution. However, it has been six weeks since the application, and I am yet to receive a decision.

About two weeks ago, in response to my follow-ups, the Home Office informed me that my application is "undergoing mandatory checks and awaiting information from another government department." They haven't provided a specific timeline, which is causing significant inconvenience and uncertainty for me. The exact response from the Home Office was:

"Good afternoon, Thank you for your email, We have looked into this and can see the application is currently undergoing mandatory checks and we are awaiting information from another government department. We are unable to provide a timescale for this and apologize for the delay and inconvenience this is causing, please be assured we are doing all we can to make a decision as soon as possible. Thank you."

I'm trying to understand what these "mandatory checks" might entail and why there's such a delay, especially given that I opted for the Super Priority service. Has anyone experienced similar delays? How long did it take for your application to be processed? Any insights into what might be happening or advice on how I should proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help and advice.

Your previous lengthy topic was about your ilr application where you asked the same question and you were given substantial advice in addition to your statement that more docunenta were requestrd 5 tines and that you had more than 180 days absence.

Now you are asking about a visa extension?

So which is it actually?

Super Priority is also NOT a guaranteed service, especially when asked for more documents, you then revert to standard processing time.

Yes, unfortunately, my application was rejected due to absences, and I applied for a visa extension, and 6 weeks have passed since the extension request, and they said in today's email that they are conducting mandatory checks.
Do you have an analysis about my condition?

We sent an email yesterday and they wrote the following text again

We have looked into this and can see the application is currently undergoing mandatory checks and we are awaiting information from another government department. We are unable to provide a timescale for this and apologise for the delay and inconvenience this is causing, please be assured we are doing all we can to make a decision as soon as possible.

Does anyone have an opinion? What are these checks?

Is this review a standard procedure for everyone?

You were already told in your previous thread - Innovator applications will take a long time due to their complexity. No point poking UKVI unless the delay is outrageous.

It could be several months before you get an answer. Counting the days is not going to help your frustration 🤷‍♂️

Hi,

My husband has also applied for dependent visa. On 13 December 2023. And we are expecting ihs link for the payment and also the visa, but there is no mail from UKVI. And we also mailed them thrice, the same answer we received need to wait for the decision. I don't know, if we are lacking somewhere.

Hello Forum Members,

I am currently facing a complex situation with my UK visa and am seeking advice from anyone who might have experienced something similar or has knowledge in this area.

Recently, my application for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK, submitted through the Innovator Visa route, was refused. Following this refusal, and within the 14-day grace period, I promptly applied for an extension of my Innovator Visa. However, this application was also refused by the Home Office for multiple reasons.

As I understand it, I now have a 14-day period to apply for an Administrative Review. However, I am considering switching to a Skilled Worker Visa instead. Given that I am still within this 14-day window, am I legally permitted to apply for a Skilled Worker Visa? Are there any specific considerations or potential complications I should be aware of in making this switch under these circumstances?

Any guidance, advice, or shared experiences in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Navigating the complexities of UK immigration law can be challenging, and any insight you can offer would be invaluable.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best regards,

Hi there, thanks for sharing your experience. I am in the process of extending my innovator visa as well. Can you please share more details? What were the grounds for refusal of the extension?
