Before Global Talent visa I held student and work visas - do those periods count towards ILR?

Post by radoskeravica » Tue Jan 02, 2024 6:31 pm

Hi, everyone.

I hope someone can advise. I was on a Tier 2 (which later became known as a Skilled Worker visa) visa between 2019 and 2022. In 2022 I switched to a UK Student visa and spent 10 months on it. After that, I switched to a Global Talent visa which I currently hold. While I'm aware that the period spent on a student visa does not count towards ILR, I am interested to know if those initial three years I spent on Tier 2 count or if the period got restarted to zero after I switched to a student visa. Thanks.

Depends what route to ilr you are asking about? 3 years, 5 years or 10 years long residence.
