Spouse Visa

Post by Damzek » Sat Apr 13, 2024 1:26 pm

Hi

I want to travel abroad (Jamaica) to marry an old school friend in a private ceremony at the registrar. We fell in love and want to start a life together in the UK..

Q1. Will UK spouse visa application accept marriage certificate done in private ceremony?

Q2. Do I have to use pictures of us to support our his application?

Q3. Do we have to wait 2 years after the wedding to apply for his UK spouse visa?

Post split to the Immigration for Family sub forum. This post is not relevant to your ILR topic!
Q1. Will UK spouse visa application accept marriage certificate done in private ceremony?
A marriage certificate that is valid in the country where the marriage took place is usually accepted, provided both you and your new spouse were free to marry.
Q2. Do I have to use pictures of us to support our his application?
You have to prove subsisting relationship. Pictures alone is not sufficient.
Q3. Do we have to wait 2 years after the wedding to apply for his UK spouse visa?
No!!
