Hello,
I hope someone here can offer advice or share experiences regarding our current situation.
My partner and I are both UK residents with valid residence permits (one of us has pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme). We have a 3-month-old baby who was born in the UK but does not yet have a visa or entry clearance. We recently traveled abroad as a family, and while our baby’s visa application has already been submitted and is pending approval, we urgently need to return to the UK where we reside.
We are concerned about what might happen at the UK border if we attempt to re-enter with our baby before her visa is approved. Our questions are:
1. Has anyone successfully entered the UK with an infant in this situation, where the parents have valid residence permits but the child does not yet have a visa?
2. Would the fact that the visa application is already submitted and that the child was born in the UK help us at the border?
3. Could attempting to enter without a visa negatively affect our baby’s ongoing visa application or her future immigration record?
We’re anxious about the situation and unsure how to proceed. We’d greatly appreciate any advice, insights, or similar experiences from others who’ve been in this position.
Thank you in advance for your help!
