How early can I extend the dependant visa of my wife and son?

I have already indefinite leave to remain.

Due to financial constraints I will choose to extend the dependant visa of my son and wife for now. When would be the earliest time I can renew their dependant visas? Some say I can renew it as early as 3 months before the expiry date, some say 28 days.

I would appreciate it if I was given clarification. Thank you.

You can apply anytime before their visa expiry. There is no specific date for applying for a visa extension. What 'some' say is nonsense

What is the visa category route you got ilr through and what the dependent visa are based on?
