SET(M) Queries

Post by mss9025 » Sun Sep 01, 2024 11:23 pm

Hi all,

Hope you are well!

I am due to Apply for ILR in March 2025 (Currently on FLR(M)). However, my current passport expires in Feb 2025. Is it mandatory that I have a valid passport when I submit my application?

My current visa expires in August 2025. If I do need a valid passport and apply for a new one and don't get it by August 2025, would I still be able to apply for ILR with no issue?

Many thanks in advance!

You need a valid passport to apply. Apply for a new passport as soon as you can

SET(M) Queries

Post by mss9025 » Tue Mar 25, 2025 9:42 am

Hi all,

I am in the middle of applying for my ILR. I was wondering if it's acceptable for my line manager to provide the employer letter or does it have to be strictly from the HR department?

Many thanks in advance!

Yes. There is no requirement that it should come from a specific person

Thanks Zimba. That certainly simplifies things. Will just get my line manager/ team lead to write up the letter

Hello again,

Was just filling out my application and a couple of things caught me off guard. Some clarification would be highly appreciated.

1. At the end when the required documents are listed, my spouse's british passport is requested, including all blank pages. Is this new? I thought I read on the forum that just the bio-data page would be enough?

2. Thought I had to only provide 2 years worth of cahabitation evidence but the form asks for 2.5 years. Also new requirement?

3. Form also asks to provide all previous passports used to enter the UK. I have an expired passport valid between 2005 and 2015 that was used to enter the UK as a student. Should I scan this passport as well? It was not used to enter the country with the spouse visa on which I'm relying on for my ILR. I didn't provide this for my FLR (M) extension either.

Many thanks in advance!

The document list may or may not be accurate. Only passports covering the last 5 years is needed, including all stamps pages.
Cohabitation covering the last 2 years: All you need to know about cohabitation evidence
