Skilled worker visa and additional 20 hours work

Post by kkcdon » Sat Jun 07, 2025 4:56 pm

Hi, I was on a Skilled Worker visa until 31st December and have since applied for an Innovator visa, for which I’m still awaiting a decision. As I’m no longer employed by my sponsor, I’d like to know if I’m permitted to undertake 20 hours of additional work during this period.

No you cannot.

You can work an extra 20 hours only if you are still working for your sponsor.

Furthermore, if I am listed as a director of a company but not employed by it and not receiving any salary, is that permissible? Or do I also need to resign from the directorship? Does holding a director position without pay violate the conditions of my visa?
