Disabled partner, Wife's Application submited 48 days ago at

Post by the kurdish knight » Mon Sep 14, 2009 12:06 am

Hi all,

I am a disabled male who got married ot my partner and she applied for visa in Damascus centre 48 days ago. Still there is no response and we are awaiting for the news which we think it is 85% refusal giving the fact I am disabled and donot work and we got married by proxy. We have £3400 in savings and also my wife has an educational certificate of higher education which was submited with the application. We got engaged back home and then got married by proxy when i came here to the uk. Can anyone elibrate or give me an idea what are the chances of the EC being issued and are there any one on here with DLA and proxy marrige who got the visa??? Any help would be appreciated. Also I would be really thankful if someone can provide me with the BEST Immigration firm in UK who deals with visa refusal appeals so I can instruct them straight away when I get the news.

By proxy, you mean someone stood on her behalf during your marriage, correct?

Have you ever met each other?

The immigration rules and visa issuing guidelines state that you should have met each other and the marriage should be recognised, and both of you should be above 21.

Is you marriage considered valid and authentic by Jordian Civil marriage standards?

See This.

It might be best to meet these criteria rather than spending on futile applications. Also if you dont meet them, there is every possibility that an appeal might not produce a desirable result either.

Hi there

Thank you for the reply. Of course we did meet. We met when we got engaged and that was before the marriage of course. I submited photos, my passport stamped and flight tickets to proofe it as well. Proxy is allowed in syria of course someone stood on my behlaf and n ot hers she was present there when the ceremony was executed.

If ur partner was in UK for the proxy marriage then it's not recognised in UK.
