Pros and Cons of Changing to British citizenship

Hi,

Myself, wife and 1st kid are on ILR, since Mar 2009. We are eligible for British passport from Mar 2010 I guess!. But my question is for my 2nd kid.

We recently had our 2nd kid and she is eligible for British Passport based on parnets being on ILR.

I would like the knowledgeable people in the forum, to help me decide if I have to apply for birtish or ILR for my 2nd kid.

Is there any topic in here or in the internet which lists the pros and cons of converting to a british citizenship from Indian citizenship.
Will my kid have the option to change her citizenship if she so desires at a later date.

Your suggestion and help is highly appreciated.

depending on exactly when you 2nd child was born she may already be British. i.e if she was bron after March 2009 (when you got ILR). If born before that then you have to register her to be British as discussed Here. You do not have to apply for ILR for her first, you can if you want to but it is not necessary and it will probably be quicker to apply for British passport than to apply for ILR.

The only thing is that if your child is not yet British then it would be cheaper for you to apply for her at the same time as your other child
