Help! Can someone please clarify??

Post by Mohammad24 » Mon Jul 18, 2011 11:20 am

Hi,

I'm a bit confused and would like some clarification please.

My wife is a British national, and we intend to file an application for a spouse settlement visa for me.

I am working and earning, and have savings to show for the both of us.

My wife is a housewife and doesn't work currently.

The question is: Is it true that it's the sponsor that needs to be working and showing a steady income?

On another thread of mine (on this forum), a moderator was telling me that I should be concerned about my wife's finances and income rather than my own. Is this true?

I thought the most important thing was to show that we can support ourselves without recourse to public funds (regardless of which of us is working)?

Please confirm.

Thank you.

why dont you stick to the same thread so that people don't have to trawl through your threads to find the specific discussion you refer to?
