Is this true, that when parents apply for ILR and get an ILR the child gets a british passport immediately. The child doesn't has to wait for 11 months before applying for the naturalisation. Also does the child has to go through the naturalisation procedure or no need of it. Can you please clarify this, vinny?vinny wrote:You're almost correct.
After you're granted ILR, Red (British?) passport will not be automatic. Registration will be required, prior to British passport application.
But section 1(3) of the legislation act 1981 states the below:vinny wrote:I was referring to children born in the UK prior to at least one parent being granted ILR.
Yes. That is correct.pgaitonde wrote:So if the parents apply for an ILR, get an ILR, then the child can get a British Citizen by registration.
A registration application is different from a passport application.pgaitonde wrote:when parents apply for ILR and get an ILR the child gets a british passport immediately.
Can you provide me with the link for the registration form, if you know?vinny wrote:Yes. That is correct.
