10 Year Long Residence

Post by Dadu786 » Mon Mar 05, 2012 9:08 am

Hi Every one,

I am on Tier 1 General visa. I will be eligible to apply for ILR based on 10 years lawful residence in September 2012.
any advice how to go about this?
Some friend said for 10 years long residence you have to meet conditions of your last leave to remain. I chekced on UKBA web and its says so as well. I am very confused as to how to go about this. Please help

thanks in advance.

If you are applying for ILR on 10 years long residence basis, you don’t need to meet any condition of Tier 1 General visa.

All you need is your all passports; prove that there are no gaps in your 10 years stay and that all of your visas were granted on time.

There are hundreds of 10 years based ILR stories on this forum. You have just joined today but I am sure if you look for the existing cases, you will find answers to all of your questions.

Hi linkers,

Is it not all of visa extensions were applied on time rather than all of visas were granted on time? I just would like to confirm that for my own case (I'm not sure if it's allowed to do that in someone else's topic though). Your reply will be much appreciated.

The best way to check this is to get SAR file from home office. Almost every 10 years applicant gets SAR before applying for ILR as it tells you the history of all your visas.

Thanks linkers. I'm actually waiting for my SAR but just wanted to clarify my understanding on ILR.
