Leave absence from old employer

Post by ILR_New » Sat Jun 06, 2020 9:05 pm

Hello,

I will be soon applying for ILR , my current employer is ready to give a letter for my leave absence , however previous employer is not responding to my email so I am not able to get leave absence from previous employer. Will this create a problem? How should I handle this problem? Please advice.

Regards,
Kanchan

Single occupancy Council tax benefit

Post by ILR_New » Tue Jun 30, 2020 3:38 pm

There is one question in ILR related form.
9. Are you receiving any public benefits? Council tax benefit – P17

Is taking advantage as a single occupancy Council tax benefit considered as public benefits?
If so , what should I do not to impact my ILR process.

You can apply no sooner than within 28 days before the 5th anniversary of your initial visa issued date, ie 31 aug 2020 minus 28 days.

Registration with Naric for English requirement

Post by ILR_New » Sun Jul 12, 2020 9:56 am

Hello,

I am on Tier 2 visa , soon will be applying for ILR.
For English requirement, I have got all the required documents and when I started my registration on Naric website with basic information like name, email, nationality etc and then I got stuck/Confused at one question which have answers in the drop down.

Question asked : Family, Settlement, ILR,and Nationality

I am confused between 2 options : Tier 2 / Family, Settlement and Nationality
After selecting this, there are other dependent questions.

They have mentioned this is very important question. Can you please suggest what option I should select.

Calculating leave absence

Post by ILR_New » Tue Jul 28, 2020 11:43 am

Lets say I went to India for 1 month out of which 10 were holidays like Saturday,Sunday, bank holiday and for 5 days I worked from home with the permission and 15 days I took annual leave.
In the leave absence excel sheet weather I should just mention 30 days holiday or I will have to give all above details.

What you did is irrelevant. Full days of absence from the UK should be declared

Bank statement

Post by ILR_New » Tue Aug 18, 2020 9:55 am

HSBC account has denied to provide stamp and signature on my bank statements instead they said they can provide a letter as a Certificate of Balance which can be used as a proof.

Also the bank statements which they have sent me through post says duplicate on it ? Is it still valid?

Will this qualify for my ILR application? Please suggest.

Yes. Most often duplicate/replacement postal statements bear such title.

Bank statements if are not on official stationary won't meet the criteria without the stamp & signature. And a balance certificate alone will be frivolous.

On the basis of what seagul raised, a safer option will be for you to try other HSBC branches, tell them is for immigration/HO purpose and out of a couple you should get one that will grant your request.

Some towns only have one branch within their 50-100 miles. However based on the op's current situation where he couldn't be able to get these stamped so these won't be accepted rather the ones he has got and marked with duplicate will be fine (same as said earlier).

Updating visa status from ILR to Tier 2 General

Post by ILR_New » Wed Sep 30, 2020 4:35 pm

Hello,

I have got my ILR 2 days back. I have informed my HR regarding this and have also sent a copy of my new BRP.

1. Are there any more places where I need to inform about change in my visa officially?

2. Also if I switch my job is it legal or still I might have some terms and conditions with my current employer?
In my offer letter they have just said that for 6 months I cant join any company which might be our client directly or indirectly.

Please guide.

Thanks & Regards,
Kanchan

1. Better to update your bank, any money lender or the landlord.

2. You are free to work anywhere subject to any written agreement with previous employer

1. Can't think of any at the moment, but if you rent property then letting agency/landlord keep a copy of your visa status, so if that's the case you can inform them and they don't need to do any follow up checks again.

2. No, you are free to change jobs now, but go through your current terms & conditions before resigning or accepting new job... just in case.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

If you wish/planning to leave the old employer then ideally to do so amicably as their referencing will gigantically overwhelm your future opportunity 8)
