Savings Abroad

Post by Jhelumi » Fri Feb 15, 2019 11:24 am

  • Applying to bring Mrs over to UK from Pakistan
Join Account in Pakistan (on top of a joint account with held Mrs)
Hello there,

Please can I ask for some clarity from the knowledgeable people here.

Can a British citizen use savings that are held in a Pakistani bank account when applying for family visa to bring wife over to UK?

The savings are held in a join account with another family member (other than Mrs) which is never used. The account is active.

Thanks

To use savings, it must be in either YOUR name or your Partners name only or in your/partner joint name.

See page 17, point 4.1.1 and page 47 point 7 onwards, in link below.

Declaring savings despite meeting the minimum threshold

Post by Jhelumi » Fri Feb 15, 2019 11:48 am

  • Family visa to bring Mrs over from Pakistan to UK
Hello,

Is it good practice to also show savings even if the annual salary is more than £18,600 or should this be left out?

Thanks

Makes no difference. HO is only interested in if you meet the requirement either by salary or by savings. Keep it simple to avoid confusion and documents being overlooked. You still cannot use savings in a joint account with another family member who is not your spouse.

Hello,

Is there a name for the document that one needs in regards to the housing survey?

I am assuming a person goes to their local council and asks them to inspect their house and prepare some sort of a report which they can then send along with the visa application.

Thanks.

Property Inspection Report.

The council or an estate agent can do it.

Do you share the property with others who are not related to you??

No, I own the property and I live alone.

Then a property inspection report is not required.

Seriously? Are you absolutely certain about this? Would a House Registry be enough?

A Housing inspection report is required when multiple people who are unrelated live in a property. This is solely to prove the property is not overcrowded etc.

If you own your property and are the only one living there, it is not required. Only evidence of your ownership and council tax etc is required.

Hello,

What is the ideal number of photos one should send? How many wedding photos, pre-wedding and/or post-wedding?

What format, printouts only or can these be uploaded onto the visa application website when applying?

Please can some knowledgeable person advise?

Thank.

There is no set limit but as a precaution attach as much as you can. You can copy paste them on word document with date, name and location

  • Family Visa - To bring Mrs over from Pakistan to UK
  • Applying in UK on behalf of Mrs who is outside the UK
Hello

https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/account/register

Please can someone clarify, on the above page when registering for an account, does it need to show the: Personal Details Contact Details, Address Details as the person in Pakistan or can I use my own UK details to register the account?

Thanks

Hello,

My Mrs has arrived in the UK, Alhamdu'lillah.

What is the process for opening a bank account, getting a national insurance number or applying for a provisional driving licence as they all ask for 3 year UK address history.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks
