Thank you.

One of our referees is a Professor another one is a Director. Both are British Nationals and over 25 years old. They don't have any convictions and they are not related to each other. The first is a professional reference and the second is personal (community work). Both have known us for more than 5 years.

Is there anything else should I consider?

Thanks

You can use the same referees at any time as long as they respect the requirements.

Is the professor a university lecturer or a chartered teacher? If so then they are ok.

Hi,

We just noticed that the entry stamp from Edinburgh Airport was missing when we last entered the UK on 23/2/24. What can we do about this? We still didn't submit the application. Are there any other forms of documents we can submit?

Thanks

Your PP was scanned I expect so HO has your date on their system.
Nothing to worry about - no need for additional documents.

If you are well below the absence limit unlikely that one missing stamp would be a problem. If UKVI need more documents they will get in touch to ask.

Hi,

Thank you for your response.

I have a total of 41 days absent only.

The checklist says,
If you do not have your passport or it was not stamped when you entered the UK, you need to include letters (for example, from your employer or government department) as proof.

Bank statements or household bills are not suitable proof you have been living in the UK.
Should we only provide passports as advised or should we provide the council tax letters, tenancy agreements and mortgage documents because one stamp is missing and as per above it seems they need additional documents.

Kindly advise and sorry for any confusion.

Thanks again :)

As we have already advised, no, not necessary. A mortgage statement or tenancy agreement would not be suitable proof of residence anyway. If you want to cover your bases you can get a letter from your employer that confirms you live in the UK, should UKVI ask.

Hi,

I am panicking a bit now, (sorry)

They asked for the following documents,
  • The passport issued by [home country]
  • Proof of living in the UK for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen
  • The degree certificate to prove the level of English language required
  • Two referee declarations for xxxxxxx
I submitted/uploaded the following online on TLS website,
  • Passport all pages
  • Degree Certificates
  • Two references
They say,
you must send original documents, unless we ask for a photocopy. Your application will be delayed if you don't send everything.
  • How can I send them the document?
  • Also, is there anything else I should be submitting?
  • I have a biometrics appointment tomorrow and I cannot upload anything now. What to do if I need to upload or send something now?
Thanks

On the TLS contact website you should be able to pay £50 to ask them to upload your documents. Bring the originals to the appointment and ask the staff to add themto your application. Nothing else for you to upload except for what we already advised.

Thank you.

So, are the documents I mentioned and uploaded enough evidence, or should I still take them with me to upload for £50?

Thanks again :)

I thought you say you weren't able to upload your documents? If you uploaded what we advised, that is enough and consistent with that checklist.

They asked for the following documents in the checklist,

and I was able to submit and upload the following:
  • Passport all pages
  • Degree Certificates
  • Two references
I am just concerned and worried,
  • Will these be sufficient? If not then I should take others and ask them to scan.
  • Do I still need to take these documents with me and ask them to scan for £50?
Thanks again and apologies if I wasn't clear enough.

You uploaded what that checklist asks so not sure what you are worried about? We have advised about this before.

Thank you for your wonderful support.

Meanwhile, we are waiting for the Naturalisation outcome, could you please advise on the following?
  • For British PP, we need to send the original Passports as well. Do they need the passports we used to enter and remain in the UK or do they need all the passports we had? Our Passport (used to enter and stay in the UK) was issued in 2015 and it is valid until 4/25. The rest of the passports are cancelled and we never used them to enter the UK. Also, they are in our home country.
  • What would be a good time to apply for the renewal of our existing home country passport? Because it will be expiring in April 2025. Would that be OK to send the existing PP to the Passport Office and while waiting for the British PP, apply for the renewal of our existing home country PP?
Thanks again. :)

- You only need to send all your uncancelled passports. Just send them the current passport you will have once you get an outcome and the one you have now. They only do this to ensure names are consistent across passports.

- Just go ahead and renew your passport now. Why waiting for the time when you are applying for the British passport? That may be months in the future, you don't know how long the naturalisation process will take.

Thank you so much.

Can anyone travel outside the UK whilst the naturalisation decision is pending or after applying for the British PP (before receiving it)?

Thanks again.

You can travel while waiting for an outcome for naturalisation, as it is not an immigration application. You are advised against travelling before you apply and obtain a British passport once you attend the ceremony (it is at the ceremony that you become British, not when you receive the email) as your immigration status linked to your current passport will expire. Once you apply for your UK passport you will need to send all your current passports so you won't be able to travel.
