Re: Child not given a British passport please help

Hi there, I have a Slovakian passport and have been living in the UK since 2007. My children were born in the UK in 2015 and 2017. My youngest received a British passport yet my eldest will need to go through the citizenship process as I didn't receive my PR before he was born. Is there a way for m...

Yes, it sucks, you need to ask for the personal details. I know, completely unreasonable to expect us to ask people we only interact with professionally for their private details. But that's what they do.

Re: Partner of dual citizen

Also - if I do rely on a combination of being a partner of a qualified person and being a qualified person myself - how do I enter this in the form?

In Section 9 " Relevant EEA national’s activity in the UK", there is only space to enter one person's details and activities.

Partner of dual citizen

Hello! I will acquire permanent residence on 18th July (our 5 year wedding anniversary). My husband and I are both EU nationals, but I plan to apply as his dependent as I was not exercising treaty rights myself throughout the last 5 years (but he was). On 12th July, my husband has his citizenship ce...

Have you called the council, or just been to their website? As NDRS is quite new, they might just not have updated their website yet, so it might be worth calling them to check.

Hi Sorry to hear that. But I believe you're fine to travel as they have refused the naturalisation application. Your ILR is still valid and you can travel as many times as you want. Can you share your timeline and also can you tell whether you applied for Passport at the same time as of naturalisat...

Re: URGENT!!! MN1 form - help with referees

Any midwifes or nurses? It does not necessarily have to be from the list of professions. I used two "childcare practitioners" (ie nursery nurses) from my kid's nursery, and that was accepted.

PS: Also note that your application will not fail because of unsuitable referees - you will simply be asked to provide an alternative referee.

Re: MN1 Form Professional Referees

The whole referee business is so annoying and outdated, isn't it? Why are we being made to bother other people for their personal details like passport numbers, birthdates, current and previous addresses? I completely understand if they don't want to share them! Anyway. Your professional referee doe...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

You can't get an accurate picture of refusals or successes on here, the amount of people posting is a drop in the ocean compared to the thousands of applications per month, a more accurate result is published by Home office. It's a sample. Much like an opinion poll etc. It could give you a pretty g...

Re: Unsuccessful applications

Just re-read your post. If you just mean EU law does not apply to how the British government gives out its citizenship (so their approach would not be "illegal under EU law") - yes, you're probably right.

Re: Unsuccessful applications

1. An EEA(PR) holder can previously have "overstayed" if they were not an EEA national at the time, they had leave to remain, and they remained in the country once that leave expired. So the answer is: yes. UKVI will take into account the previous 10 years, so will look beyond the qualifying reside...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Oh no. This is not good. But i have noticed that once the passport fee is deducted i havent seen any rejections. So looks like passport fee deduction is positive sign. But we don't see many rejections in the first place. Most people either get accepted, or never post again (so we don't know how the...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Judging by the processing timeline threads it usually take no more than a week from passport fees deducted to the approval letter arriving. I had mine deducted on 29th of May and still no sign of the approval letter. Should I be worried? Hi, I am in a same boat, but there are many cases in timeline...

By post only (2nd class) as far as is known.
Second class? You mean the 1330 pound application fee does not even cover the extra 9p for a first class stamp, which would get us the decision a couple of days sooner? Lol.

Correct, most (all?) councils don't offer passport with NCS anymore, but you can do it when applying online and using NDRS. Our council let us use the referee pages from the paper application (because we had already had them signed when they changed the system and made passport applications with NCS...
