Re: Mismatch stamps on my passport with my GNIB

Write to the GNIB office in Dublin requesting for your period of reckonable residence. You’ll get it in a week or two at the most and you can use those dates for the residency calculator.

What they mean by ‘several ceremonies’ is having two or three ceremonies on the same day- the 10-ish am batch = 1st ceremony and the 1-2ish pm = 2nd ceremony.

Im sure they said one was due early 2020 Spring can be considered early in the year if it is March or Maybe they meant spring by Celtic Calendar, then it can be in February. ;) :) I spoke to a lovely lady from the helpline who said the next ...

Yes. Very ambitious and could be interpreted either way. My original stance still holds.

Well.. he clearly resides in Ireland as he is with his parents and studies here but is away during the summer. One can argue either way but lets not forget RJ- the Aussie who was away for approx 3 months (100 days a year) worked here but spent all that time away as he is in academia and would thus b...

Re: Ceremony 2020

I read the article below in Irish times. I think that means the next ceremony will be early next year. "More than 2,000 people are due to be sworn in as Irish citizens in Killarney, Co Kerry next Monday and thousands more are expected to receive citizenship in the first two months of next year foll...

Not really, there was a case where a person was denied even after swearing the oath but before receiving the certificate (at that time you would get it later).

He brought it to court and lost.

You need to get to the nearest GNIB office and explain this to them. They might be able to provide you with a letter of some sort.

I’ve never experienced that but wouldn’t worry littlerr mentioned.. I’d actually give them a call and sheepishly ask if they’ve received the docs. :P Apologies Iva. I don’t mean to side-track or deviate from your query.. You mentioned police clearance certificates- did you move away from Ireland for...

I was advised by Inis over the phone on tuesday that there will be a few ceremonies early next year which is slightly different to every other year! Interesting.. they must be trying to clear the backlog! The 19,000+ waiting was highlighted in the news and it isn’t good publicity at all. I applied ...

Nope no approval letters since stopping the ceremony. Everything was in limbo. Some were in the final stage however would only be given an approval once everything was sorted. Some had already received their approvals and had submitted their GNIBs + paid the final fee and submitted photos. Everythin...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

Do anyone predict what will be the decision tomorrow? Do we get any ceremony in December? There will have to be a ceremony in December.. The bag log is otherwise something they wouldn’t be able to deal with - especially when there are only 60-odd case workers. I unfortunately do not think Ireland w...

Can’t seem to edit it.

I meant perpetual repetition.

The way he went on about ‘this term’, I wonder if he meant prior to the Summer recess of 2020.. I’m hoping to hear a judgement in a week or two but if there is none by the end of the year, everything is going to drag on.

Argh.. perpetual reputation is utterly horrible. Humorous way to inculcate patience though..

Thanks for the updates Aneel.
