Re: ILR Success! Croydon PEO Office - Calculating Absences

But the email I received back from the UKBA advised me - unexpectedly - that BOTH days leaving and days returning to the UK would be counted as absences. So I made do with my own filenotes from UKBA phone helplines and hoped would not be raised as an issue. I have no confidence that those who answe...

Re: UK ANCESTRY - ILR - PLS HELP

1. As long as there is no gap between the ancestry EC and the "additional visa" (FLR?) you can apply now. In fact it's probably wise to do it asap before the settlement rules change.

2. 300 days since 2004 or in the past 5 years?

I have an extensive travel history and did a SAR request, and all they could come up with was the very first landing card I filled out. So given that the e-borders system is not counting all flights (and even fewer 5 years ago), I wonder if the UKBA really has the precise departure/arrival informati...

There is no interactive form available since they introduced the new salary requirements. Since the form is now roughly twice the length of the previous one, UKBA probably considers it low priority/too complex to update.

The EU law doesn't apply to the UK (and Ireland and Denmark), as they opted out of the provision.

FLR(BID) if ILR rejected

I am applying soon for ILR (UK ancestry) via PEO appointment. If for some reason they don't make a decision that day, and they eventually reject the application after the visa is expired, will I still have 28 days to apply for FLR (BID)? Or will I have to leave the country and apply for ancestry ent...

Eligible to apply (PEO) from 31-08-11 or 2-09-11?

From the immigrants' perspective 1 - stop inconsistent caseworker decisions based on vague, poorly worded guidance, where everyone sweats about whether they're going to lose 1000s of pounds based on a bored functionary's whim (Exhibit 1: guidelines on allowable absences for ILR). 2 - Cameron says he...

Applying for citizenship with work visa for another country

I'm eligible to apply for ILR in September. As I will soon exceed the qualifying age, I would like to apply for a German working holiday visa after that. Thinking ahead to citizenship, will the presence of a still valid German visa count against me in terms of intention to live in the UK? Is it mere...
