UK spouse settlement visa - Decision made - collecting the passport [Pakistan]

Post by Haris411 » Fri Jul 12, 2019 6:48 pm

Hi,

My wife has applied for a UK spouse settlement visa.
She is from Afghanistan so she had to make the application in Islamabad, Pakistan.

For serious health reasons, she is not currently able to collect the passport. She does not know anyone in Islamabad or Afghanistan who could collect on her behalf.
I am planning to travel from London to Islamabad to collect the passport for her (currently waiting for my Pakistani visa to be granted).

My question is:

- Is there a time limit on collecting the passport? I heard someone say you have to collect it within 10 days of a decision being made. Are there any implications if you collect it maybe 2 weeks after the decision?

- Is there a time limit on when you can enter the UK? In the application, we put the visa start date as 20 June. I think I read somewhere that you must enter the UK within 3 months of the visa start date - can anyone confirm?

Grateful for any advice.

Its one months instead 3 months within which the applicant will need to enter

She only has a 30 day visa, she must enter the UK within the 30 days. If she does not, she has to apply for a visa vignette for another 30 days costing around £200.

Thanks for confirming that.

Do you know how to go about applying for the visa vignette?
