Just got stuck with one more thing on the application document checklist. I understand you mentioned that
“There is no requirement to prove cohabitation if switching to FLR(M) after a recent marriage to a British citizen.”

However, in the following Application form: Page 63 of 79

The text goes along the lines of:

“If your application is as the partner of a settled person or person who is in the UK with refugee leave or humanitarian protection”

Which I assume I am?

It says:

Six items of correspondence addressed to you and your partner at the same address as evidence that you have been living together since your last grant of leave in this category, or from the date you first started living together up to a maximum of two years. See Note 11.

Does this apply to my case? In which case, I might not be able to provide all the 6 correspondences and might need to give them an explanation

Wit is relevant to flr m extensions.

The same form is used for all applications/circumstances.

Meant 'It' not 'Wit'.

Two years cohabitation evidence is required for the second FLR(M) extension and not for a switch to FLR(M) if recently married.

I was just making a little document checklist for myself.

My status: I am switching from Tier 2 to Spouse, showing my own salary for funds maintenance and showing my in-laws house for accommodation. If there is anything that is glaringly missing, please let me know! It would be super helpful!!

1. My passport and Biometrics Residence Permit
2. My police registration certificate - Not sure if this is needed!
3. Category A - Showing my own salary for financial requirements. Earnings are well above £18,600

- Payslips covering: (i) a period of 6 months prior to the date of application
- A letter from the employer
- Personal bank statements corresponding to the same period(s) as the payslips
P60
- evidence that the company is not a type specified in paragraph 9(a). Not sure about this!!!I think my company is a limited company!

8. Immigration Health Surcharge reference number
9. Photo of me and my husband

Neither of these required. If you are PAYE employed, then the bit quote above does NOT apply to you.

I just have a few more questions. It doesn't really help to have all the categories using the same application. I am breaking my head.

(I am so sorry! I promise I will definitely stop with my questions at some point. At the moment, literally, I have nowhere else to go for these questions. I would really appreciate your help! )

1. Is it better if I supply them with a couple of engagement and wedding photographs?

2. All my correspondence under my name goes to my parent's house which I don’t live anymore and I don’t have any important correspondence going to my fiancé’s house(except for Amazon, eBay etc). I hope this won't cause any issues?

3. Should I provide any of these evidence for my husband to show the residency? See below:

4. I just wanted to see in the guidance on why I wouldn’t need to show any correspondence evidence. Is it due to the following? Sorry just trying to completely understand the process.

since your last grant of leave in this category, - So that's why it doesn’t apply to me because I am applying for the first time in this category??

or from the date, you first started living together up to a maximum of two years - That is for Civil partnership application I assume ??

I am basing on this information that this is why it doesn't apply to me. But please let me know if I am wrong!

You don't need 2 years evidence of cohabitation.

If you only married recently and now switching to FLR(M), it is also not required. Suggest change your bank statements to your current address and drivers licence if relevant (£1000 fine if you don't do this by the way) so that you have something.

- Also, I read about people missing Appendix 2 documents and getting their visas rejected! Ghosh, I am super nervous I am going to make mistake and leave something behind. What are these Appendix documents? Not sure if it's even relevant for me! A quick clarification will help!

You can if you wish to, evidence of cohabitation would suffice though.

Appendix 2 is NOT relevant to FLR(M) switch within the UK. Appendix 2 is relevant to applications OUTSIDE the UK.

No issue. No legal requirement to change your name after marriage.

Ah Thanks, CR001.. I wish I could buy you some cake for all the guidance you have been providing so far!

I am purely worried only because my husband is not working at the moment and I have been living in 2 different addresses. Not sure if I should still mention his past employment.

Hopefully, I can provide the right documentation, that doesn’t confuse them unnecessarily.

I have applied for many visas here all by myself where I was super confident of every outcome. But for this visa, everything sounds weird. Looking at the number of rejections even after everything is done right is scary. Can't afford to lose all this hard earned money and our precious time!

In terms of accommodation arrangements, since we are showing my in-laws house, can I just show the council tax bill, a simple letter from my father in law and the electoral letter? Should I necessarily show the property deed document too?

Sorry! Just wanted to know if anyone has applied for the spouse visa with just the council tax letters and a letter from the accommodation provider or we should definitely show the property deed/mortgage agreement etc? The council tax letter doesn't contain my name yet though! Quite confused on whats accepted and not.

Hi Friends,

I was wondering if you help me with a quick question! I am applying for my spouse visa soon.

I recently got married in the UK and my husband is British. We are living at his parent's house and we have a bedroom and study all for ourselves so no overcrowding.

In regards to the evidence for the above, I have downloaded the lang registry document from the online HM website. And I am presenting a letter from my father in law too.

And I have a council tax bill from my in-law for the year 2018-2019, but this letter is dated August 2018. It is not within the 28 days period! Will that be an issue?

Also, do I definitely need to attach their mortgage statement too?

Would really appreciate any help!! Thanks in advance!!!

Council Tax letter is not bound by the 28 day rule, you are supposed to submit whatever up to date document you have. The docs you already collected are good.

Make sure the letter from parents specifically mentions there are adequate space to accommodate you both.

What is the best payment method? I am worried about debit card issues where the bank blocks the payment etc and equally not sure about a postal order for such a big amount and sending it via post!

Preferably use that card/bank which you had used in past to pay application because bank automatic system will recognize it immediately and won't block payment.
