Just to confirm, so it means she's still under 18 and will require the under 18 documents?CR001 wrote:Whatever is applicable at the time of application.
What will she provide as proof of her ties to home country and her intention to leave the UK after her visit and to convince the ECO that she is a 'genuine visitor'?
She lives with her grand mother's sister (father side). Her biological father lives in another country and literally not looking after her. To whom it is ideal to get the letter? Is it from his father or from her grand mother's sister will do? What will prove her the legal guardian? Proof of address from the child and the guardian?CR001 wrote:If under 18 at the time of application, then that is what is required.
A letter from the school stating her studies, terms break length and continuation of studies when she returns on X date.
Where does she live in her home country? Letter from her legal guardian might be good too.

Who is legally responsible for the young lady in the place/country that she lives?trevoronitselec wrote:She lives with her grand mother's sister (father side). any help for my question above? many thanks.
she was living with her uncle and grand mother's sister.. but I think no official document to prove they are legal guardian designated by the court. Will the HO look for evidence? Is a birth certificate of his uncle plus a letter of consent from his uncle sufficient?noajthan wrote:Who is legally responsible for the young lady in the place/country that she lives?trevoronitselec wrote:She lives with her grand mother's sister (father side). Is there an official & designated legal guardian?
Suggest that person should provide such a letter.
My understanding is you will need letter from parent or guardian.trevoronitselec wrote:she was living with her uncle and grand mother's sister.. but I think no official document to prove they are legal guardian designated by the court. OK I will ask them to provide a letter signed by notary, in addition My wife who is her mother living with me here in the UK will provide a consent letter too.noajthan wrote:My understanding is you will need letter from parent or guardian.trevoronitselec wrote:she was living with her uncle and grand mother's sister.. but I think no official document to prove they are legal guardian designated by the court. You can't concoct such documents so if those family members fulfill such a role then suggest submit a letter from them.
Can anybody help? I am really confused now.. when we are doing the online application the system wont allow us to create a child visa application it says "the VISA is for person under 18 only, you cannot apply for this visa.trevoronitselec wrote:OK I do understand that under 18 requirements will apply on child "Are under 18 years at the time of your application";
but when we try to fill up the online application, we cant choose the child visa option and only family visa is available since the child will turn 18 2days before the notified date of departure. Is the child VISA application form different from the family VISA form?
Is it OK to still send the additional requirements for under 18 but with the family visa application and explain it in the cover note?

The systems says "the VISA is for person under 18 only, you cannot apply for this visa". And from the application form created there is no under 18 category.CR001 wrote:If under 18 at the time of application, then that is what is required.
