Spouse Visa Financial Requirements

Hi folks, I am trying to find out the most likely response to this scenario:

My wife (New Zealand Citizen) was granted an initial 2.5 year entry visa (she applied from Australia) in June 2016 which will expire in March 2019. We initially applied using cash savings only.

It is very likely that we will fall short on cash savings when we do the 2.5 year extension, but we will still have at least £55,000 in savings and I have self employment income of £1200 to £1400 monthly.

I can not see that we have any 'exceptional circumstances' obliging the case workers to give us any leeway. We have no children.

Is it likely, based on your experiences this far, that she would be forced to leave the UK, or is it more likely that she would be refused the 5 year route but instead be granted the 10 year route?

What is your gross annual income from your self-employment( i assume not limited company) and when did you submit last tax return ?

Hi, gross would be 12K, sole trader and I'm filing this month.

Could be. But self employment cannot be combined with case savings

It's a long shot, but I'll ask anyway - just wondered if anyone has been successful in reaching the financial requirements for Spouse Visa by combining their Self Employment Income with a lump sum cash gift from a family member which has been held for 6 months?

Appendix 1.7 is clear. You cannot combine self employment with cash savings.

Quick question .. for the first spouse visa application.....

On our bank statement theres a rather large additional income because we sold our car. Do we have to declare this income because the car was intially bought from our saving?

And if we declare it do we nees proof because i dont have reciepts.
