Tier 2 General Visa - Raises

Post by haffeys » Wed Dec 19, 2018 7:38 pm

Question 1:
I just found out that a raise I was given earlier this year, which was less than 1% was never reported to the UKVI. As the raise did not exceed the original RMLT max amount, is this something I should be concerned with?

Question 2:
I have been told I am getting another pay raise (50% this time) plus equity in the company. This will push my salary much higher than the original RMLT and the equity was never offered originally. My boss informed me in November but we are paid the last day of the month. He realizes he needs to notify UKVI but does not know if the 10-day window is from the time of decision or the time of the first paycheck. Does anyone know?

1. If it was part of the normal company annual increase for staff, then no not necessary to report.

2. 50% is an excessively large increase and bound to be a huge red flag to HO. What is your current salary?? Is your salary due to be increased shortly before applying for ILR?? What exactly do you mean by 'equity'?? You do realise you cannot hold more than 10% shares in your sponsoring employer company.

Also, what is your SOC??

1: No the raise was not part of the normal company annual increase (not something we really have yet). This was a performance raise but only applied to me. Does this need to be reported? If so, is this going to cause issues for me when I apply for ILR in 2 years?

In that case it must be reported yes.

Stock Options??

Are stock options considered part of the salary package? Does the sponsor need to have included them in the original market test and put them on the CoS Salary to offer them to the employee?
