FLR spouse visa - interview

Post by Haleema93 » Fri Feb 22, 2019 12:38 am

Hi,

We applied for my husbands further leave to remain UK visa back on 27th august 2018 and had no reply since then. We contacted them 3 times asking for updates and had our MP contact them too, without really getting a proper answer. All they told us was ‘your visa is under review’.

Last week we got an email asking my husband to attend an interview. We’ve filled the forms and sent them back to confirm he’ll be attending next week but just wanted to ask if anyone’s had anything similar.

We’re not sure what the interview is about or what will be asked.
Does anyone know anything that can help him prepare?
Ps: he’s originally from Pakistan.

Thank you,

Very helpful sticky topic about it. Worth to read:

It’s only my husband who has been called for an interview though, I haven’t been asked to attend. The other topics have stated both the husband and wife have an interview to check whether the relationship is genuine.

What is your husbands full UK immigration history??

Any issues in the past regarding doing a TOEIC English test or tax discrepancies if on a Tier 1 General visa previously?

Hi, he came over in 2015 on a spouse visa, and this is the further leave to remain application. And there’s not been any issues that I’m aware of regarding his English test or tax. That’s why I’m confused about being called to an interview. He didn’t have an interview on the initial application. I can’t see it being about the genuinity of our marriage, as we’ve lived together since he arrived in the UK, have a house together, and a 1 year old daughter too. And evidence of all this was supplied with the application.

What were his initial visa start and expiry dates?

What date did he enter the UK?

Hi,

His visa was from Dec 2015 - Sept 2018.

He came over 26th Dec 2015.

We applied for the FLR end of Aug 2018, 28 days before his visa was due to expire

Calling for interviews in relation of UK spouse visa happens very rarely especially when bad immigration history. But if you are positively confident on that matters then go ahead as there wont be anything wrong be happened even you will get chance to clarify the points remained unclear in your application.
