Hi,

I am a UK national and am going to apply for spouse visa for my wife who is a dual US/ Pakistani national. She is currently here on her US passport (6 months visit - no visa needed). She is going to go back to Pakistan to apply for the spouse visa (as I understand she cannot apply while on her visit in UK). So my question is if she applies for the spouse visa from Pakistan on her Pakistani passport - can she still travel to UK on her US passport while awaiting the spouse visa?

Yes. But preferably tell her to apply from US because from there she will be exempted from TB test.

Thanks! Follow up question is there anyway she can apply from within UK while she is here on her US passport? She won’t be staying longer than 6 months as she can leave on her US passport while has given Pakistani passport for the spouse visa.

No there is not. It is not possible to switch to any other visa category while in the UK as a visitor.
