FLR(M) form

Post by colvia1 » Tue Mar 26, 2019 2:58 pm

Hello, I am new to this forum.

My wife is Brazilian - we married in September 2016, and we are going through the 5-year scheme for her to settle in England permanently (we live together). The first two years and a half years have nearly expired, so we have applied for a first extension on the FLR(M) form.

Most of the documentation we have is fine, but there is one thing I am concerned about. For the past 14 months I have been working as a contractor for a company, and invoicing them at the end of each month (I do not get paid for sick leave or holidays). The money gets paid into my bank account, but I do not receive a payslip. For the 2017-2018 tax year, I did a self-assessment with the HMRC to pay my tax for February 2018 (when I started there) and March 2018 (the previous ten months I was with other companies which did the tax for me), and also intend to pay my tax the same way for the 2018-2019 tax year. I am supplying copies of my bank statements for the past 6 months with the application, but am unable to supply payslips because I do not have any. I have asked my boss, the director of the company for a letter confirming that I work here, but I just wondered the application would be rejected because of not having payslips. I consider myself self-employed, but when I tried to say that on the online application, there were lots of details that I didn't have, so I went down the employed route (even though strictly I am not employed by my company).

Everything else is fine with the application - we have hundreds of photos, several bills in both our names, the house is owned with no mortgage etc.

Any information or advice would be much appreciated!

Many thanks,

Colin.

You are not an 'employee'. You are self employed and need to apply and submit the documents asked for accordingly.

Does your wife work??
we have hundreds of photos
Not required for an extension application. Documentary proof of cohabitation is required for the last two years.
Char (CR001 not Casa)

Also don't forget A2/B1 level english language test.
