Read the link posted by CR001 at least 3 times, it will clarify everything you are asking and also you don't a need solicitor to do your application as it's very straightforward.
As TODMATT said, you certainly don't need a solicitor as the application itself is fairly straightforward. You do, however, need to feel confident in the information you are supplying in support of the application and that you meet the requirements. Members on this forum can provide some opinions, advice and guidance but we can't do the application for you. If you don't feel confident doing it yourself, a professional can do it for you though not necessarily with better results than if you had done it yourself.

Page 16 of the guidance document in the link provided by CR001 and TODMATT discusses housing costs and acceptable evidence. Page 11 of the guidance document has an example calculation including both housing costs and housing benefit. Just because your housing doesn't cost you anything doesn't mean there isn't a cost that has to be considered in the application.Confused777 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 11:57 amThanks geogeng. What do you means by housing cost? Is it the rent? As its paid directly to landlord

I already gave an opinion on this. It depends on your housing costs (not yet provided) and I'm not entirely comfortable enough with calculating possible income support benefits for your situation to say with certainty one way or the other. It is a calculation you must be confident in doing yourself in support of your application and I'm not really sure where the continued confusion lies. If you aren't confident in preparing the application yourself with some guidance from this forum (guidance you have already been provided as the documentation from the Home Office sets out the requirements fairly clearly), you probably are better off getting assistance from a professional.
