Spouse VISA from Pakistan - Funds requirement

Post by AGM23 » Sun Mar 03, 2019 3:12 pm

Dear all,

My situation is that i was working abroad for 6 years and returned to UK in December 2018, my wife was with me as well and is now in Pakistan.
I am still looking for work here in UK but not employed yet. and want to sponsor my wife for Spouse visa.

I meet £62500 threshold and can show that i have funds, however funds are not in UK bank account and are in account abroad.

Would this be acceptable?

Appreciate if someone could help.

Thanks

Yes if they are 6 months old. In that case you won't need to show any employment. But you will have to disclose their source of acquisition.

Thanks Seagul for prompt reply.

However i have had a look online for guidance notes from any authentic source that could confirm but have not been able to see anything yet?

Is there anything which would authenticate that this would be acceptable?

I can of course show bank statements and employment records etc to prove funds are genuine.

Thanks

Spouse Visa, where to submit documents from UK

Post by AGM23 » Fri Dec 20, 2019 5:36 pm

Dear all,

I will be applying for spouse visa for my wife from Pakistan, question i have is would i need to send supporting documents to her and she needs to submit originals such as my bank statements etc or i can submit them from UK? She has some documents such as marriage certificate etc with her which she would submit there herself.

Also i will be applying based on savings of £62500 and the savings are in a bank account outside UK since i was working until last year outside UK? would this be acceptable? i believe it is but just want to be sure?

Many Thanks

Yes provided these are 6 months old and can be immediately withdrawn with/without penalty.

Once you will submit the application then you will be instructed as exactly what to do. Usually if the applicant/sponsor has the option to upload the document by themselves then yes you can and these will be acceptable but taking the original to the relevant vfs centre/ukvcas centre is better for just in case.

Depends how you look at it and whether or not your wife needs to access the healthcare system while in the UK. Could end up being the best investment you ever make against the alternative of having to pay for healthcare services.

Ok thanks,

so basically i would pay £1200 for 33 months surcharge plus application fee, are these nhs charges refundable in case of visa refusal etc? Just curious.

1. Correct yes.

2. IHS is refunded if a visa is refused. Application fee is not.

The most recent one must be dated no earlier than 28 days before the date of application.

She can send her documents to you which along with yours documents you can upload & send from VFS/ukvcas centre in uk to visa authorities.

Once you have completed the online application form you will be directed to the VFS global site where you can schedule your spouse biometric appointment* (may be a fee depending on the day) and self-upload documents for free.

You also have the option to upload via assisted service at a VFS branch for £75

Thanks both for clarification.

So if all the document need to upload online, can i use online bank statements? i.e PDF versions? or do they require hard copies at later stage?

Thanks

Thanks AmazonianX,

However i am getting conflicting information on PDF statements? can someone please confirm who have submitted online version/PDF bank statements?

It is more so important for me than most cases since my bank account is abroad and it will save me a trip just get bank statements printed.

Thanks
