Right okay. So sorry, I keep thinking of questions at the moment... If I don't do self upload and I take my documents to the visa centre, do I need to take A4 copies of things that are not already A4, eg. passport and marriage certificate, and will they scan the copies? Or should I take the originals and will they just resize them when they scan them? I guess they would want to see the originals, but I read somewhere everything has to be A4 ready for them to scan, so I am not sure.

I've just realised that my payslips are dated with the last day of each month, even though I get paid on the 25th of the month. In October I'll get paid on Friday 23rd (as the 25th is a Sunday), and I plan to submit the application on Saturday 24th. Will it be a problem that the date on my most recent payslip will be 31st October, i.e. a date after I submit my application?

Over none-immigration related matters that is a very common practice which won't necessarily be the case when engaging in immigration related matters despite the caseworker is cognized to it. Therefore, ideally wait to apply until 31st October to coincide the date of application with date of payslip or apply within 28days starting from 30th September.

Okay, in that case I might use my September payslip as my most recent and apply on 19 October for example.

If I do the self upload, do I have to upload the documents on the same day as I submit the online application, or are you given a certain amount of time to upload them?

Upon the successful submission of application the documents can be kept on uploading until the date of biometrics appointment. Also the documents can be asked by ukvi directly via email.

Okay I see, that's good.

I just thought also, does the letter confirming authenticty of my payslips from my employer have to be dated the same day as the payslip, e.g. 31 October? I have asked it to be dated 23 October, as I didn't realise the payslips are dated the end of the month. Is this okay, or should I ask it to be dated the same as the payslip itself?

Not necessarily rather shouldn't be older than 28 days. Also it might not be even needed where the e-payslips are a replica of original.

If I submit my application on 31 October, can the correspondence covering 2 years not be dated earlier than 31 October? Closest correspondence I can find to that date is dated 18 October 2018 - would that be okay?

It just be dated on or before the application date and just cover the 2 years before date if application. It cannot be dated after the application date.

You are overthinking this.

Should be fine as each cohabitation evidence keep you covered for at least 3-4 months.

Just wondering if I need to upload passport photos at any stage of the online application or document upload? Also how soon after I complete my online application do I need to start uploading my documents, and how long do I have to upload everything? Are you given a deadline?

Just started the online application and already I have questions.

What is your relationship to the person you are applying to remain with in the UK?
There is no option for 'Spouse', so should I put 'Partner' or 'Other'?

Is your current entry clearance or leave to remain as the partner of one of the following?
a British citizen
a person settled in the UK
a person with refugee leave or a person with humanitarian protection in the UK

Does this mean my status or the status of my husband? My husband is a British citizen, so I say 'Yes'? Or if it's me would I say 'No'? Does Settled mean Indefinite Leave to Remain?

1. Choose partner.

2. It is YOUR visa status, or if you hold a spouse visa currently it another visa category.

Right, so my current entry clearance is as the partner of a British citizen, so I would say 'Yes'?

Brilliant, thank you :)

Now, I am wondering what start and end date to give for my current visa/leave to remain. I was initially given a BRP with start date 15 May 2018 and end date 4 November 2020, but I later realised the end date was incorrect, so they issued me with a new BRP on 16 October 2019 and correct end date of 14 November 2020. So technically the correct start and end dates are 15 May 2018 to 14 November 2020, but the dates are spread over two different BRPs :?

You do not have 2 active BRPs. The current or newly or most recently issued BRP trumps the former one. You

New BRP usually supersede the older one and also, you can check it at the following website:

Thank you, yes I understand my new BRP trumps the old one. The question though says "What is the start/end date of your current visa or leave to remain"

My second BRP was issued 16/10/2019, however my actual leave to remain started on 15/05/2018 - I wonder if I should put 15/05/2018, and explain in my covering letter the discrepancy in dates?

So sorry, a few more questions:

When did you start living at this address?
We started living together in 2016 while I was in the UK on a Tier 4 student visa. Should I put this date, or the date I came back to the UK in 2018 on my Fiance visa so we could get married?

What type of visa, leave to enter or remain or other permission do you have to be in the UK?
I'm here on a Spouse visa - do I say 'Family' or 'Settlement'?

How long have you lived in the UK?
Should I put since I lived with my then-boyfriend (now husband) in 2016 (I had to return to my home country in 2017 when my Tier 4 expired), or since I came back in 2018 on a Fiance visa?

When did you enter the UK?
The first time I ever came (2014 on a short term study visa), or when I came on my Fiance visa (2018)?

When did you start living together in a relationship?
Again, in 2016 when we lived together on my Tier 4, or 2018 when I returned on a Fiance visa?

Re: FLR (M) Spouse Visa Extension questions

Post by seahorse8 » Sat Oct 17, 2020 6:26 pm

Thank you again. Just a few more questions I would like to check please:

Are there any factors which would make it difficult or impossible for you to integrate and establish a private life in your home country if your application is refused?
I have said 'Yes', because: I have established a life with my husband in the UK since February 2018. We both have jobs in the UK and are planning to buy a house and have children here. It would be difficult for me to move back to my home country as my husband would have to apply for a visa/residence permit to live there. He also does not speak the language, so it would be difficult for him to integrate and find a job, and for us to establish a new life. This, therefore, would make it difficult for me to go back to my home country.
Is this a suitable answer? I have just been honest.

Please list your shared financial responsibilities and how much you each pay each month
Council Tax and Rent is in both our names. The money comes out of our joint bank account so we don't really think of it as contributing 50% each or anything, but should I still give the total for each and how much 50% each is? e.g. rent £500 per month (£250 each per month)? Or just give the total amount?

Also for Council Tax the first month is always a bit more than the rest of the year, do I have to say this amount or just state the amount we are currently paying?

Do you or your partner have any physical or mental conditions which require at home personal care or medical assistance?
Does this include medical conditions like asthma which I treat and manage myself, or just if a carer comes to visit?

What type of ceremony was your wedding or civil partnership?
We got married ina register office. Do I say "Register office wedding" or Civil Ceremony?

Please explain why you and your partner cannot live together outside the UK.
I answered this above in the part about being able to integrate into my home country. Can I repeat the answer here, it is pretty similar after all.

When did the current employment begin?
I started in May 2019 in one role, but changed to a different role in June 2019. Does this mean when my employment at the company began (May), or when my employment in my current role began (June)?

Employment: What do you earn?
The same amount continuously, above the financial requirement amount or Not the same amount continuously, above the financial requirement amount
Does this mean my basic salary? My salary is the same each month but I sometimes work overtime so I get paid more, so I do not always earn exactly the same each month. Do I therefore put 'Not the same amount'? Or if it's just basic salary should I put 'The same amount'?
