FLR M - Combining Income

Post by Qaisi » Sun Feb 23, 2020 11:52 am

Hi everyone. Please can someone help me.

We are now preparing to apply for FLR (M) visa for my husband who was granted entry clearance January 2018.

We are planning to combine our income to meet the threshold of £18,600. Now, I have a salaried employment contract to work 40 hrs a week but my annual salary is £17,250. My husband works as a delivery driver and we are not sure if we can combine our income, he is currently working on a zero hour basis as per his manager. His hourly rate is £8.21 and typically does 10 or so hours a week. However I was looking online and saw that we are not able to combine salaried and non salaried together.

I was just looking at my husbands contract which stated he is contracted to work 5 hours a week at £7.85 which equals to £1881 annually. I am just really confused if we can combine our salary or not and if his employment is salaried or not.

Please someone help. I could possibly ask my employer to give me more hours, find a part time job or maybe my husband could ask his company to amend his contract and pay him the same each month??

Any help/advise will be grateful appreciated.

You have misunderstood it and it is category A and category B which both can't be combined if you are combining your income.

Thanks for your reply. I thought Cat A is salaried and Cat B is non salaried?

To make the case more easier why don't you simply starts doing overtime which might enable you to fulfill the financial requirement alone involving less paper work.

The categories are based on length of employment with current employer. Category A is available for people who have been with their current employer for at least 6 months while Category B would apply to people who have not been with their current employer for at least 6 months or anyone who could apply under Category A but choose not to. Salaried and non-salaried employment can be used in both categories.

FLR M Visa - Furlough + Redundancy

Post by Qaisi » Sun Aug 23, 2020 4:16 pm

Hi All,

Hope you are well and safe.

My husbands visa is due to expire next month, we were planning to use my pay plus overtime to meet the financial requirement (confirmed with employer). However, 1 month in, government announced the lockdown and I was put onto the Furlough scheme.

Unfortunately, recently I have been selected for redundancy as the business cannot afford to keep me. So I will be on furlough until the 1st Oct and then be made redundant on the 30th Oct.

This is so stressful, I don't know what to expect as we are applying for my husbands visa mid September. So worried sick as the government are not clear on the immigration side of things either so we don't know what to do... Not sure what documents I would need to provide, do I mention the redundancy or will it just made things worse?! Please help me!!!

Would appreciate any help/guidance. Thank you in advance.

Changes to the minimum income and adequate maintenance requirement
If you’ve experienced a loss of income due to coronavirus up to 31 August, we will consider employment income for the period immediately before the loss of income due to coronavirus, provided the requirement was met for at least 6 months up to March 2020.

If your salary has reduced because you’re furloughed, we will take account of your income as though you’re earning 100% of your salary.

If you’re self-employed, a loss of annual income due to coronavirus between 1 March 2020 and 31 August 2020 will generally be disregarded, along with the impact on employment income from the same period for future applications.

Unfortunately, there’s no mention about concessions due to redundancy?

Better to not wait and delay rather even can apply now with a covering letter declaring your job precarity whilst requesting to consider the income till the date of application or March 2020.

Thank you CR001, I was earning £1437 per month before March 2020 (my usual salary), however, after requesting overtime with my employer they agreed to do this. This was only one month, so do you think the home office would still consider this as its not 6 months upto March?

Appreciate the advice Seagul! I'm just thinking if I could ask my employer to provide a letter stating that I would have been provided overtime and meeting the financial requirement had the crisis not happened? but not sure if I can convince them not to mention the redundancy...

Either mentioning the redundancy or not in the employer letter won't make any difference since you yourself will have to declare it.

FLR M EXTENSION QUESTIONS

Post by Qaisi » Sat Sep 19, 2020 7:25 pm

Hello everyone.

Hoping you are all well.

We are almost close to submitting our visa application online. However, I am a little unsure on a few areas and would be grateful if you could help me out:

1. Do I need to photocopy each and every page of both of our passports?
a. Verify these from the post office?

2. We still live with my parents, for the entry clearance visa we submitted a letter from my parents, a tenancy agreement and also a housing inspection report. Do we need to get a new copy of the tenancy agreement and a new housing inspection report to submit for this application or can we reuse the same ones?! I'm not sure.

3. I don't think this is needed but do I as the sponsor need to fill in the sponsorship form again?

Thank you in advance :)

1. No because because everything is sent electronically and also no notarisation/verification is required.

2. You will also need the actual owner's noc letter.

3. no but only:

Thank you Seagul, so for accommodation documents I will provide a letter from my parents and also the ID. Will this be enough? Do I need a utility bill in their name too?
