zeezidane908 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 9:22 pmI need to apply for my wife to come to UK.
I am British resident and currently living in UK.
She is Lebanese and lives in lebanon.
When on the gov.uk link it asks whether I want to apply from outside the UK or in the UK.
I will complete the application on her behalf, as she is abroad, am I obliged to select 'outside the UK'? Select outside the UK.
It is also cheaper to apply from UK but I think I cant select that as im applying on her behalf whilst she is abroad, I think i'm confusing things but just wanted to check the above.
Secondly, when going through the form etc it asks for details on email, passport etc, I assume I have to put all of her information and not mine right?
I get confused when reading the form as I dont know if it asks for the info from my perspective i.e all my info as I am applying for her, or whether it all needs to be related to her. It doesn't distinguish it very clearly.
zeezidane908 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 9:39 pmIs it that early to apply now though?
I was thinking of being a little proactive and starting to go through the application from now and submit by end of the year.. or will that not work? You can have a go at a dry run of the application to see the types of questions you will encounter and likely documents that will be requested.
We are married already by paper and legally (done in lebanon). just haven’t had the “white dress” ceremony.. my thinking was that I wanted to apply by end of the year White dress or not does not concern HO or delay the application,
the interest is so far the marriagewas legally done as per the laws of the countrywhere it was held. (submit in December) so if it takes up to 12 weeks.. home office would’ve replied by let’s say End of March. She can then come spend some time here and get her BRP card and we go back to do a little Celebration in summer then return here.
Is that not realistic ? You mention it’s too early if she only wants to come next summer, but when she comes back with me after the ceremony there won’t be anymore travelling.
Hope that makes sense, look forward to hearing your advice, thank you!!!

Does this mean I have to pay £1523 for the visa application as well as the £624 per year ??
I would really appreciate some guidance here on this.
No
Yeszeezidane908 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 5:55 pmOr is it only going to charge me for the initial 2.5 year that is issued?
1. The guidance as per appendix FM clearly state you need to provide evidence of this although the online generated checklist on the GOV website is not comprehensive enough and has led to many refusals.zeezidane908 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 3:08 pm1. I didn't initially submit any evidence at the start as I was not requested to do so when completing my online application.
2. Same as above.
Do I need to provide a housing inspection report? I have been speaking to different people and some say it's not mandatory but may make a case stronger. However I was told it's mandatory to get my parents tenancy agreement, as well as a letter of no objection from my parents to submit to cover this point. Do you think these two will suffice without the housing inspection report? The tenance agreement shows that there can be 5 people permitted in the house and we are less than that. Hence I question whether the inspection report is required?
