Statements or bills are not accepted as proof of residency - you submit your passport(s) covering the period.

No. You don't send any documents by post unless otherwise asked to. All supporting documents, including passports, are scanned and uploaded onto the UKVCAS site. The minimum requirement is to scan all pages with stamps on them. I personally chose to scan all pages, even the empty ones, for thoroughness' sake.

There's more to "Good Character" than not having committed any crimes...
UKVI have a guidance document for caseworkers as to how they assess the requirement:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... y-guidance
This includes immigration issues, bankruptcy, reckless financial dealings, not paying council tax, even having a reputation, etc, etc.

Thank you so much explaining.

I do not have any thing for now, touchwood.

Can I ask you please, I came to uk 2009 as student and visa were extended thorough out the years and I got married to British citizen in 2016 and then after I went to India to start the fresh application under spouse category and came back feb 2017.

Now filling all the immigration history I do believe to fill all the visa and extension from 2009 but I am doubtful and someone said I only need to fill from 2017 so im bit confused, could you please advise.

Second, I have difficulty in finances so brother advised he Will pay the fees for this application, am I allowed to use his card or it should be from bank account ? I don’t know if that’s matter. Please advise also?

I really appreciated all the help and advise.

Thank you

- The question asks for "any" applications, meaning all - some of the details are "if known".
- Payment by card using your brother's should be fine, as long as funds are available.

The professional referee needs to be from that list - not sure what an advocacy manager is.

That is a job title - what is the professional qualification of the person?
Member of a professional body? Lawyer or social worker?
You need to ask the referee about this.

Perhaps show her the list of accepted professions and see whether one of those listed fits her profession. I can't advise on this past the list from the guidance. Alternatively, look for another person qualified/willing to be your professional referee.

Sorry but I don't think there's any point asking here which job titles are suitable. We can only point to the official list which is publicly available. Surely you know someone who will fit one of descriptions, and qualifies as a referee - list copied here for reference:

‘Acceptable professional persons’ means:
• accountant
• airline pilot
• articled clerk of a limited company
• assurance agent of recognised company
• bank or building society official
• barrister
• British Computer Society (BCS) - professional grades which are Associate
(AMBCS), Member (MBCS), Fellow (FBCS) (PN 25/2003)
• broker
• chairman or director of limited company
• chemist
• chiropodist
• christian science practitioner
• commissioner for oaths
• councillor: local or county
• civil servant (permanent)
• dentist
• designated premises supervisors
• director or Manager of a VAT registered charity
• director, manager or personnel officer of a VAT registered company
• driving instructor (approved)
• engineer (with professional qualifications)
• fire service official
• funeral director
• insurance agent (full time) of a recognised company
• journalist
• justice of the Peace
• legal secretary (members and fellows of the Institute of legal secretaries)
• local government officer
• manager or Personnel officer (of limited company)
• member of Parliament
• member of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces
• Merchant Navy officer
• minister of a recognised religion
• nurse (RN, SEN or holder of a BA in nursing)
• officer of the armed services (active or retired)
• optician
• paralegal (certified or qualified paralegals, and associate members of the
Institute of Paralegals)
• person with honours (such as OBE, MBE and so on)
• personal licensee holders
• photographer (professional)
• police officer
• Post Office official
• president or secretary of a recognised organisation
• Salvation Army officer
• social worker
• solicitor
• surveyor
• teacher, lecturer
• trade union officer
• travel agency (qualified)
• valuers and auctioneers (fellow and associate members of the incorporated

You book an appointment at ukcvas service not the post office. You upload your documents to ukcvas before your biometric appointment.

Once you submit and pay you will be directed in what to do next.

From memory, the UKVCAS site does tell you that appointments are released a month in advance, every day. This means every day new appointments are released for a date that takes place a month in the future. If there is high demand, it is not surprising that you cannot find a date that is sooner than 7th May, specially for free appointments. A month's wait is the rule of thumb. Totally normal.
