engrcj wrote: ↑Thu Nov 24, 2022 10:39 pmHi all,
I'm working on my application and I found the questions below a bit tricky..
Would you kindly help me navigate..
Thank you for your time in advance
- Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?
Would it be 'Yes' for my case? My route was Tier 2 - Skilled Worker - ILRThis refers to all the applications you made to enter the UK, remain in the UK, up until ILR.
- Do you meet these residence requirements?
* You must not have been outside the UK for more than 90 days in the last 12 months
- Please tell us which of the requirements you do not meet and the reason you do not meet them:
I was outside the UK for 96 days - should I say 'No' or 'Yes'? Obviously a NO. You don't want to start your application with a lie.
- Are there any reasons why you cannot meet the requirements to become a British citizen (for example, you have had too many absences from the UK)?
Do you think I can click 'No'? since 6 days over isn't 'too many' absences? You "might" get a discretionary waiver.
Sounds good to me if that's the truth.engrcj wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 7:55 pmHuge thanks CR001 as always..
hopefully one last piece of advice request..
Residence requirements - You must not have been outside the UK for more than 90 days in the last 12 months
Do you meet these residence requirements? No
Please tell us which of the requirements you do not meet and the reason you do not meet them: I stayed outside the UK for 96 days in the last 12 months. All the trips were much needed to spend time with families since I wasn't able to travel under COVID-19 international travel restrictions in previous years.
What do you think my responses are?
I know you said I'm overthinking this 96 days of absence but it is indeed more than 90 days? Thanks again.
Sounds good to me.engrcj wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 7:53 pmThank you!
Hi all,
Details of your trips outside the UK - provide details from the last 5 years.
Do I have to add all the trips again or just new ones since ILR? :'(
Final review please

Are there any reasons why you cannot meet the requirements to become a British citizen (for example, you have had too many absences from the UK)? No
If you do not meet the statutory requirements to become a British citizen, are there any special circumstances why you think the Home Secretary should still grant your application? No
Thank you for your continued suopport!
I painted the words in red. Apparently, you missed it.
13th one extra day for good measures. It costs you nothing.
Agree.
If you have waited all the while, a day more should not be an issue for you compared with being declined for the excitement of wanting to apply on exactly the day of meeting requirements.
