Naturalisation application evidence list support

Post by engrcj » Fri Nov 11, 2022 10:11 am

Hi all,
Wondering if there's a list of evidence required for the application - i'd be grateful!

I see that the Biometric appointment is required but saw IDV app? can be an option so not to attend the appointment physically - has anyone done this successfully?

Thank you for your help!

The list will be generated when you complete your application based on your answers.
HO will work out if your biometrics could be reused, so you can use the app, or you need to attend an appointment. They'll let you know.

Loads of people used the app check out the timeline thread.

Application response support

Post by engrcj » Thu Nov 24, 2022 10:39 pm

Hi all,

I'm working on my application and I found the questions below a bit tricky..
Would you kindly help me navigate..

Thank you for your time in advance :)

- Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?
Would it be 'Yes' for my case? My route was Tier 2 - Skilled Worker - ILR

- Do you meet these residence requirements?
* You must not have been outside the UK for more than 90 days in the last 12 months
- Please tell us which of the requirements you do not meet and the reason you do not meet them:
I was outside the UK for 96 days - should I say 'No' or 'Yes'?

- Are there any reasons why you cannot meet the requirements to become a British citizen (for example, you have had too many absences from the UK)?
Do you think I can click 'No'? since 6 days over isn't 'too many' absences?

- Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?
Would it be 'Yes' for my case? My route was Tier 2 - Skilled Worker - ILRThis refers to all the applications you made to enter the UK, remain in the UK, up until ILR.

- Do you meet these residence requirements?
* You must not have been outside the UK for more than 90 days in the last 12 months
- Please tell us which of the requirements you do not meet and the reason you do not meet them:
I was outside the UK for 96 days - should I say 'No' or 'Yes'? Obviously a NO. You don't want to start your application with a lie.

- Are there any reasons why you cannot meet the requirements to become a British citizen (for example, you have had too many absences from the UK)?
Do you think I can click 'No'? since 6 days over isn't 'too many' absences? You "might" get a discretionary waiver.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Thank you Ticktack!

Sorry a silly question possibly :(

Previous application details
Name in which you made the application
- name refers to 'the application for XXX' so Indefinite Leave to Remain, Skilled Worker, Tier 2 General right?

- Are there any reasons why you cannot meet the requirements to become a British citizen (for example, you have had too many absences from the UK)?
Do you think I can click 'No'? since 6 days over isn't 'too many' absences? You "might" get a discretionary waiver.
--> should I click Yes and hope to get a discretionary waiver? I saw the official guidance 'Total number of absences normally disregarded - 100 days' sorry.. not sure what to click yes or no as it's only asking that :(

Thanks again for your time and support!

1. It is YOUR name, not the visa category name.

2. It is NO. You are completely overthinking this 96 days absence!!

Huge thanks CR001 as always..

hopefully one last piece of advice request..

Residence requirements - You must not have been outside the UK for more than 90 days in the last 12 months
Do you meet these residence requirements? No
Please tell us which of the requirements you do not meet and the reason you do not meet them: I stayed outside the UK for 96 days in the last 12 months. All the trips were much needed to spend time with families since I wasn't able to travel under COVID-19 international travel restrictions in previous years.

What do you think my responses are?
I know you said I'm overthinking this 96 days of absence but it is indeed more than 90 days? Thanks again.

Thank you!

Hi all,

Details of your trips outside the UK - provide details from the last 5 years.
Do I have to add all the trips again or just new ones since ILR? :'(

Final review please :)

Residence requirements

Are you one of the following?
working for the UK government in a different country (known as Crown service)
married to, or the civil partner of, someone who is working in Crown service
married to, or the civil partner of, someone who is working in activities closely linked to the UK government (known as designated service)
No
Residence Requirements Details

If you do not meet the statutory requirements to become a British citizen, are there any special circumstances why you think the Home Secretary should still grant your application? No

Thank you for your continued suopport!

It clearly states for the last 5 years. What exactly isn't clear in the question??

Where else in the form exactly have you already listed this? There is only one question. The other question is regarding countries you have lived in.

All trips.
Naturalisation is separate from immigration with it’s own requirements under the British nationality act.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Application submission date

Post by engrcj » Sun Dec 04, 2022 12:55 pm

Hi all,

I received the ILR letter that I was granted on 11th Dec 2021. On my ILR BRP, the issue date is 12th Dec 2021.

May I submit my citizenship application on 12th or 13th Dec 2022? Thank you for your continued support!

13th one extra day for good measures. It costs you nothing.

Agree.

To the OP: Also, there really isn't much difference by applying a day later, really. I have seen slight variations of turnaround times, where someone who applied a day later than someone else receives a decision a few days earlier. It really won't bring you any significant benefit to apply on the day, only the doubt of having applied too early.

If you have waited all the while, a day more should not be an issue for you compared with being declined for the excitement of wanting to apply on exactly the day of meeting requirements.

Referee details - a professional person

Post by engrcj » Tue Dec 06, 2022 10:03 am

Thanks all!

I'm very close to completing my application - huge thanks again.

I have two referees - hope you can review the details and let me know if it is okay.
1st referee - teacher with a British passport i believe this is perfect
2nd referee - lead business analyst with a British passport
I'd think that my 2nd referee's profession is close to 'director, manager or personnel officer of a VAT-registered company' listed on the guidance page - do you think this is okay? can I submit her profession as is?

over the age of 25
not related to me
not related to the other referee
not my solicitor or agent representing you with this application
not employed by the Home Office
