For those I am aware of this is something that the employer sorts for them and provide the address/accommodation details or arrangements for the initial period of entry.TeaandCrumpets wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 8:31 pmHello,
I am currently completing my application for my Skilled Worker Visa. I am from the United States of American, and have a U.S. passport.
I am hoping to have my application submitted prior to the increase in the health surcharge.
The applications asks, "Do you know where you will be staying in the UK?" "Accommodation details- Where do you plan to stay in the UK?" -Hotel, private housing, with friends?
Do I need to provide specific detail of where I will be staying, such as the specific hotel, airbnb booking, letter from a friend I will stay with, address, dates, contact details, itineraries ? And do I need to provide documented proof of where I will stay/accommodation, permanent or otherwise? Such as a hotel, airbnb booking, letter from a friend that I will stay with?
I greatly appreciate all help and input. I wish everyone success with the visa process.
What raises your wonder?TeaandCrumpets wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2024 10:21 pmThank you for your reply.
There are two types of fingerprints slaps (the fingers are just set on the screen) and rolling prints (the fingers are rolled across the screen).

I am wondering which ones are required by the home office.
There are people without fingerprints and accommodation is made for them in the biometrics capture system as you have rightly read.TeaandCrumpets wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 6:30 pmI work in education so I need my fingerprints to be taken for my job.
Unfortunately my fingerprints are difficult to capture. Especially rolled fingerprints.
I am hoping my UK biometrics appointment goes to smoother.
And that problems with fingerprints is not grounds for a refusal No
I read on immigrationboards that some people had similar problems when they applied for their visas.
They suggested a 'Annex - 3 Biometric, Biographic and Identification Exception Referral'.
Thank you for all of your help.![]()
They know what to do and or offer you when you attend the appointment. Better still you know you have got option in such a situation.TeaandCrumpets wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 12:24 amThat's good to hear.
Hoping if I run to problems with my fingerprints I can use this form.
Thank you for your help.
Either way should not be an issue. Or have you got a reason to worry or only asked out of curiosity?TeaandCrumpets wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 12:04 amI will have my biometric appointment at a USCIS center (VFS) in the United States.
I am wondering do they scan all the pages of the passport ? or just the data page? Experienced both.
Many thanks for the assistance.![]()
What is the SOC as £15k is below the minimum wage.TeaandCrumpets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 3:01 pmFor a skilled worker visa, does a prorated salary need to be based on the going rate salary or the 26,200 minimum?
The going rate salary is 15,000
Many thanks.
The minimum salary for the type of work you’ll be doing is whichever is the highest out of the following 3 options:
£26,200 per year
£10.75 per hour
the ‘going rate’ for the type of work you’ll be doing
Your employer must make sure your job pays at least the minimum wage and follows the UK rules for how many hours a week you work. If your employer does not do this, your application will be refused.
