Another thought, and one I think would be relevant for many others too. The scenario: Successful application is made for Spouse visa but before I can apply for a FLR, the income requirement is raised, thus making me ineligible for that extension and of course, the ILR.
I guess it's impossible to predict, but based on previous experience, anyone have any idea whether someone applying under old rules would be protected and allowed to continue to the end of the 5-year route with the old rules in the event of rule changes like this?
I think it's only a matter of time before they raise the threshold, unless BREXIT gives them leeway to relax the rules or that (long lost)MM case is won. It'd be a killer for us to leave our jobs here, uproot our lives, apply successfully only for the income requirement to be raised before FLR or ILR is reached and then have to return to where we had originally left to start again from zero.
