Tier 2 Visa- Secondary Job

Post by sidharth1987 » Wed Mar 01, 2017 1:37 pm

Hi,

I'm on Tier 2 General Visa and my wife is on Tier 2 Dependent visa. I am currently offered a job which is in same domain i work for my sponsor company.

1. Can I accept this contract job (less than 20hrs/week) withour informing my current sponsor?
2. Do i need to inform home office ? New contract work is the same domain as my current sponsor work.
3. Can I set up limited company my own and start doing the second job through that? If it is possible thats the better way to manage HMRC rules to pay my taxes.

The answer is no different to what you have already been given in your previous post. You can only do supplementary work on a PAYE basis.

No point in a Ltd in these circumstances since you'd be caught 100% by IR35 plus the general consensus is if the earnings are less than around £50k pa there is no fiscal benefit only more expense and obligations.
