FLRM - English Language - Academic Qualification outside UK

Post by gyesk49 » Wed Apr 26, 2017 4:13 pm

Hi,
My wife is about to apply for her 2nd period of leave to reamin under FLR(M) category and we have a quetion regarding the english language requirement.

My wife did her Post graduation in India and for her intial application as FLR(M) we have submitted a letter from her university stating that the course was taught in English medium and Home office issued her Visa. No problem. Now I see the rules have changed a bit.

However the section 4.4 of Appendix FM section 1.21 (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... n_1.21.pdf) mentions that "A partner or parent applying for leave to enter or remain who has an academic qualification which was accepted as part of a successful previous application as a partner or parent is not required to provide further evidence of that academic qualification."

We are confused now. Does she needs to apply for NARIC letter or can she use the documents which she submitted with her initial application while applying for her 2nd period of leave to remain under FLR(M)?

Any advise on this is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

FLRM - English Language - Urgent Help :-(

Post by JyothiB » Thu Apr 27, 2017 12:25 pm

Hello Gurus,

I have an urgent question regarding the evidence to meet the English language requirement. I have submitted my application for second period of leave to remain as a partner of a settled person on Tuesday 24th April and I believe I might not have submitted the proper evidences.

I did my post-graduation in India and it was taught in English medium. For my initial FLR(M) application I have submitted my original academic qualification and the letter from the university stating that the course was taught in English medium and my application was successful.I didn’t submit any NARIC letters for my initial leave to remain application. My initial FLR(M) was issued in November 2014.

I have submitted the documents mentioned above as evidence formeeting the English language requirement for my second period of leave to remain as a partner of settled person. Do you guys think I messed it up? :-(

Should I submit the NARIC letters? I realized it at the last minute that the rules have changes (completely my mistake) and didn’t had enough time to obtain the NARIC letters. If you guys think they will reject my application then I will get the NARIC letters on a FAST Track basis and post them to the home office.

Can anyone please advise?

Best Regards
Jyothi

Apologies for asking the same question again but I was just trying to get an answer!
I tried to be bit more clear and concise with this question. Can you merge these questions please? I won't need my profile anymore if they are merged.

Thank you!
