Switching from tier 4 into spouse visa within UK

Post by seagul » Tue Jun 06, 2017 7:42 pm

Hi all,
If a tier 4 student who is studying Mphil course at UK university but going to complete it's course in next 3 months while still having the remaining tier 4 visa until April 2018. Then can he marry a UK national within the UK and switch into spouse visa? If yes then whether same cost & procedure will have to follow like in 1st entry clearance from abroad or something eaiser/different route? Any advice / personal experience will be most welcome.

SPOUSE VISA REQUIREMENTS

Post by seagul » Wed Jun 07, 2017 7:45 pm

Sorry to enter someone else thread due to getting no answer over my thread on almost similar topic. Maybe my tiny query also benefit to op too. My query is that as it's clear now that tier 4 student can switch into spouse visa from inside UK by using FLR M but how long the remaining length of visa should be to marry and lodging FLR M??

I believe you have been a member if the forum long enough to know about bit tagging your questions into other members topics.

An FLR(M) application must be submitted before the current visa expires.

In order to marry, the couple are required to give 28 days notice at an HO approved registry office, with passport and visa. They are obliged to inform HO and this notice period could be extended to 70 days for HO to investigate and/or interview them separately, before permission to marry will have granted.
