Spouse visa app/ Address problem

Post by nightdreamer » Fri Aug 25, 2017 7:06 pm

Good Afternoon All!

I have a question regarding my bank statement.

I am planning to sponsor my wife to join me here in uk as spouse.

I moved to a new address recently and ask my bank to send me last 3 months bank statement to submit to High Commission.

They have sent me all statements in to my new address but when I opened them, I saw my old address on them.

I don't want use old address and want to have last 3 months bank statement with new address on them.

Is there anyway I can have new address on them?

Thanks in advance for your assistance/help.

You may be able to go into the bank branch and ask for the statements to be printed and ask for them to be stamped and dated.

No bank will ever issue a bank statement for a duration when you lived at different address. Bank will only issue statement for new address from the time you have updated them with new address.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

In addition to 'walker' and 'seagul' advice, what exactly is the issue with the previous address? If you have a new address you state that and can add a note that you lived at X address before that.

Thank you so much to all of you!
I am planning to apply for my wife in November 2017. I moved into a new house which good enough for me and my wife to live.

I used to live in a 3 bed house ( renting a room) which was crowded .

I have all my documents ( bank statements and pay slip ) on that address.

I came to know that the person I rented a room from claimed part housing benefits.

This is why I don't want use that address.

Is there any problems with using last 3 months payslip and bank statements on that address.
One of friends told me that there should not be any problems even though they claimed benefits.

He assured me about that.

Can you please tell if it is ok to use that previous address.

Thanks a lot.

No issue with two addresses. You did not claim housing benefits so not sure why you think there is an issue.

Hi CR001
Thanks for the reply.

I thought that a person is responsible for paying his own council tax where he / she lives.

As council the main tenant claimed housing benefit and did not pay the full council tax, I am worry that I was also responsible for pay council tax.

This is my main point.
Is it still ok to use 2/3 months document from that address?

Thanks again

Thanks again CR001!

No, my name was not.

Also do I have to pay council tax for new address.
The landlord said he pays council but get some discount on that. And I don't have put my name on council.
Thanks

No, my name was not.
Then why are you stressing about something you are not responsible for. You cannot just expect your address to change for a period prior to the address you have now.
Also do I have to pay council tax for new address.
The landlord said he pays council but get some discount on that. And I don't have put my name on council.
What type of property have you rented?

Is the landlord the owner or subletting himself as he is a tenant?

If there is discount involved, then there must be a scam or something shady going on. There are only very limited circumstances that qualify for a discount.

If you are renting an entire property on your own, ie. not sharing with anyone else, you should be paying the council tax.

I think you are over thinking which usually happens during the stressful visa process. If your rent includes all bills and if your name is not of on any claim/benefit/bill then just chill out as it won't affect you at all at previous address or New address. However, if you are sponsoring now your partner then mention specifically in tenancy agreement that you won't pay bill. Also get no objection letter from landlord and house inspection report if it's sharing accommodation.
