Nikkah

Post by naeemsyed » Thu Oct 26, 2017 3:20 pm

Hello

My son is a British citizen (working and settled) and got engaged with a Pakistani Girl living in Pakistan this year 2017. The engagement took place in Pakistan without his presence. My son and his fiancée are now in communication with each other via Skype and WhatsApp. We will be flying over to Pakistan in 2018 for the wedding. We wish to bring her back with us immediately after the wedding.

My question is, if this is possible? Secondly can with do a Nikkah via skype (before the wedding function) and submit her application for her UK visa before the actual event so we may bring her back with us?

Your advice and help will be most appreciated

Is it a different girl to the one you asked about in 2015?? Did this 'spouse' come to the UK eventually after the appeal?

Has he physically met the current 'fiance'??
We wish to bring her back with us immediately after the wedding.
Applications from Pakistan are currently taking 60-90 days, sometimes even longer. There are applicants on the forum waiting since December last year for the spouse visa applications to be completed.

Hello

The girl I asked about in 2015 was married to my eldest son who eventually came over to UK in 2016 after the appeal which went in our favour.

This girl will be getting marriage to my second son. They both did not meet physically, only conversed with each other via Skype before the engagement. All matters were arranged through us, the parents on both side. My wife (my sons mother) went to Pakistan this year 2017 to meet the family and girl and then the engagement was done in Pakistan (my son was not present).

Now after the engagement both (the girl and my son) are talking with each other via Skype and WhatsApp. I wish to save time this time round and not have an unnecessary delay as we had after our eldest son marriage. Hence the idea if we could do a Nikah via skype (before the wedding function) and submit her application for her UK visa before the wedding function so we may bring her back with us?

My question is if this is possible and will it be accepted? You advice will be most appreciate.

More likely HO will want to see a nikkah/marriage where both partners physically present. Communication over skype/whatsup can help as subsisting relationship evidences.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

A Spouse Settlement visa won't be granted when the couple haven't met in person.

My question is if this is possible and will it be accepted?
As Casa has said, if they have not met in person, then this will not work and you will face another refusal, that likely won't get approved through appeal.
