spouse visa extension FLR(M) query

Post by Artur111 » Tue Oct 31, 2017 7:10 pm

Dear forum members and respected gurus,
I've got some queries related to FLR (M) application:
1) Will it be sufficient if a couple submits two joint accounts statements, one separate bank statement for each of the partners and a joint utility bill (both of their names on it)?
2) Should these paperwork cover two years prior extension or an entire period from the 1st day when the spouse arrived?
3) They cannot provide rental agreement (they sublet two rooms from main agreement holder who cannot provide them with a contract), will it be an issue?
4) Do they need to arrange a house inspection again when applying for an extension? They share a house with another two individuals (each of them have got their own rooms).

Thank you in advance for your inputs,
Artur

1. Should be fine yes. You will need more than this to prove cohabitation.

2. Two years immediately prior to date of application.

3. You need something from your 'landlord', even a letter should be fine.

4. If it is a houseshare, then yes you need a property inspection report.

Thank you Char for your reply, much appreciate that.

I have a question that I'm sure confuses most of spouses in the UK - pregnancy and statutory maternity pay.

1) As a spouse with "no recourse to public funds", can my partner for instance receive SMP?
The company, she works for, pays 4 months 90% salary, and then SMP for the remaining period. Will this be considered a breach of her visa rules if she starts receiving SMP?

2) Do we need to pay separately for pregnancy to NHS? Pay separately for a time we spend in a hospital during pregnancy?
She works full-time and pays NI and taxes, but different people giving us opposite advices and we're seriously confused in this area, whether we should save a separate sum to pay to NHS for a baby.

Kind regards,
Artur

1. SMP is NOT public funds. See page 9 in this link : https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _v13.0.pdf

2. No. She is free to use the NHS at no charge. Stop listening to 'different people'.

Thank you Char!
I think I should really stop listening to "stupid" advices from other people. As it turns out once again, immigrationboards.com knows better.
You are great Char!

Yes, amazing how many 'pub goers' are 'expert' at immigration issues

Good luck and feel free to ask any further questions if you have any.

Just keep an eye on the latest news, read official guidelines and importantly read this board several times a day you will be able to prepare your case by yourself. Don't listen to others gossiping in shops, roads, buses etc because many of them actually over exaggerate the rules.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
