Delay on Tier 2 Visa Extension

Post by Nazimi » Thu Nov 16, 2017 6:37 pm

Dear all,

My Tier 2 Extension application was received by the Home Office on 18/08/17 and I submitted my biometrics a couple of weeks after. It is now the 13th week since applied. I’ve had contacted the Home Office on 23/10/17 and received a generic email response about how a decision is yet to be made and they’re unable to provide any further information.

I’m finding the whole process very stressful, Should I be worried or is this just routine Home Office delays...

Is there anything more we can do or is it just a car of the waiting game?

Any advice or moral support would be appreciated!

Hi Nazimi,

Sorry to hear this. Did you get any letter from HO explaining the delay? One of my friend was in a similar situation and he received a letter from UKVI saying it will take time due to a complex application or sth.

So if it's getting late than the usual time period, they will send you a letter to inform you.

In our case, During this period, HO officers visited our office to make sure all are functioning properly including payment system, employee details update system, passport inspections and even they interviewed employees to make sure they are carrying out the work which was on the COS.

so tbh, no one can give you an exact date where your application will get processed.

if HO haven't visited your company recently, they might come to yours anytime soon! That was my experience.

Good luck and let us know if there are any updates. Cheers!

Hi Can you please let me know is they send any letter before they want to visit or they can come randomly.

My case is similar like that its been 6 weeks I applied for tier 2 general using switching category and they put my application on hold. No communication after that.

At the moment the no one is on COS in my company. I am only one who is going to be on cos. Looking forward to hear from you.

Hi naveencandy8,

Ours was a random visit. They never informed us prior to their visit. If their visit is not successful due to some reasons, I've heard that they are giving some specific dates prior to the next visit.

For an example, on their visit if the authorised person in the company regarding the SMS system or the CEO/MD/HR is absent, they will most probably schedule another day! If there are sponsored workers though the authorised people are absent, they will interview them sometimes.

But in your case its not an extension? right?

If it is a switching application, they may check the RMLT is conducted properly when assigning the COS etc.
