Dear CR001
Privilege of PM Function (click to read)Statusquo73 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 3:38 pmDear CR001
I understand your point but this issue is very imprtant for us.
IS there any chance that you would give PM access to Jamalk ?
OR for once let him to share the detials of the solicitors?
Have you received your FOIStatusquo73 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 12:26 amJamalk thank you so much for sharing this great post with us.
If I won't get the decision within 2 months I am sure I will take the same route.
I have requested a copy of my file under FOI but after 2 weeks I still did not get the copy.
Any of you knows how long it takes them to send me the copy?
Hi CR001 a Solicitor who is quoted in this article from Irish Times saying that the 6 week rule is utterly unconstitutional https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland ... -1.3369835CR001 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 3:41 pmPrivilege of PM Function (click to read)Statusquo73 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 3:38 pmDear CR001

A solicitor is quoted here saying that the rule is utterly unconstitutional and all the cases have settled so farSyjem wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 6:42 pmThanks for sharing. Would you please tell us how much it may cost for each step including the appointment, writing letters, and also making the case.Jamalk wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 4:28 pmI am waiting for my citizenship application to finalize and submitted it 2 and half years ago. My wife applied at the same time and she got her citizenship on January 2018 and our two children applied after my wife and their applications went through so now my whole family are Irish citizens expect for me. This is affecting me mentally and my career as a Doctor because as a non-EEA, I am prohibited from taking part in certain training to progress my career. Right now I should be a Registrar to a consultant and not a SHO. I took a serious career dive to come here and now I am further back than square one because of this situation. My brother in law had an appointment with his Solicitor xxxxxxxx this morning and I went to see if there is something that can be done for my case. This is very interesting.
Actually, two things and I am writing this because I think that people do now know that they can take a case against Irish State for the delay. She said that the delay in my case is terrible and totally illegal. After some advice, She sent a warning letter to the Citizenship processing centre telling them that if they don't deal with my case in 14 days that I will take a High Court case against the State. If they don't make a decision, then I can go straight to High Court after a few weeks and ask the Court to force the State to make a decision. She said that they will make a decision in my case very soon after High Court case is brought and the State lawyers will say to the Court that I should not have brought the case because they were just about to make a decision in my case. That means that they won't pay my costs of the case if successful. If I got to High Court, I will have to pay her and the Barrister to make the case.
The fee is ok so I am going to High Court if I don't get a decision. I am happy now because I know that this is the ending for me. I made freedom of information request and sent reminders and got nothing. When we were sitting in the waiting area this morning, another couple waiting told us that they just got decisions because of a warning letter from solicitors and had just come in with a thank you gift and card. All the people waiting for an answer for a long time should put pressure on the Citizenship section and do not suffer like me for 2.5 years. I should have made this decision sooner.

Bro i applied in june 2016 and got my 2nd stage letter through solicitor when she asked them for an update. I am still waiting more than 2 and half years waiting...i dont think this FOI thing is gonna make any difference. All we need to do is to sue them bring them to court through some good barrister. Thats itCaptainf wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 9:46 pm... I applied in November 2016. Got Second stage letter in December 2016. Apparently straight forward application. Nothing since except copy paste emails and letters. Recently asked my TD to inquire about the delay. Same copy paste reply to him as well. Tomorrow I'm going to ask for copy of my file under FOI Act. Let's see what they come up again with. Totally frustrated.
Is there any update regarding your situation? has the department contacted your solicitor after sending the letter to them?Jamalk wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 4:28 pmI am waiting for my citizenship application to finalize and submitted it 2 and half years ago. Thanks samfv for updatingSamfv wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 11:10 pmUpdate on my application.... applied in December 2016. Received second stage in June 2017.
Asked for FOI in January and received after few days all information they had on me. I then requested internal review of the matter since the information I got was not what I asked. I wanted to know what was taking so long, what was holding up the application. Got a letter acknowledging that they received the letter. But nothing from that yet.
After all this I received a letter from INIS requesting loads of info for the last 5 years. P60s, utility bills, statements, employment letter, I sent all back last week, but I have to say it was so hard to get all together, back from 2014
Anyway can only wait and see now
