I want to resign from my job after 6 months. Will this have any problem with my wife's spouse visa application?

I want to resign from my job after 6 months. Will this have any problem with my wife's spouse visa application?

Post by barokut1 » Fri Jan 12, 2018 7:35 pm

H there,

I'm a British citizen. My wife wish to apply for a UK spouse visa with me on July 2018. That means I need to show 6 months payslips starting from this January.

I was wondering if i want to resign from my current job after applying in July 2018, would this cause any issue with my wife's spouse visa application as they'd (the UKBA) have my 6 months payslips? Please let me know soon. Thanks.

It may well cause a problem as the Entry Clearance Officers frequently call the sponsor's employer to confirm the terms of employment and that this is continuing.

Ideally you should stay in your current employment until the spouse visa will be finalized because if you resigned and your employer can't be able to confirm your employment on HO inquiry then it will cause more delays. If you will have no choice other than resigning because you getting better job then maybe sending New employer letter to HO may work out.

Oh ok. I didn't realise that. I was hoping I'd resign after 6 months which will be on July 2018 (because of a higher pay opportunity elsewhere and I don't want to miss it) and if the caseworker does contact my employer after I resign, I'll just ask my employer to just say to the caseworker I'm still "employed". (He would probably do this to ensure nothing goes wrong with my wife's spouse visa application).

But I'm just concerned, will the caseworker check with HMRC that I'm still "employed" (during August 2018 which is month 7 and onwards)? Or will the caseworker do a HMRC check for the 6 months of payslips only?

Please let me know soon as I'm really worried. Thanks.

This is deception and could result in a visa refusal and ban to the UK.

You would be surprised how much info about you HO can see.

Ahhh. I didn't know that. Then I'd have to stay in my current job and do everything genuinely basically. Thanks for the advice. I would've made a major mistake if I did not have your help! Thank you!!!
